Question: Does anyone out there have any updated news,2009 hopefully, that shows the percentage rate of hcv transmitted through unprotected sex between a heterosexual male and female? I'm wondering if current percentages are higher or lower in comparison to say 2 0

http://www.janis7hepc.com/Modes%20of%20Transmission.htm

This says in a mongamous relationship for hetersexual monogamous partners it is up to 3% chance of transmission in 20 years.

Please understand this is the transmission rate, but there is probably no good method of differentiating whether it was transmistted some other method; sharing a toothbrush or razor, and many other vectors.

I'll see if I can also drop a link to a useful thread here.

Here is a decent read.... please note there are 3 pages of thread.

Thanks Willy, I really appreciate your rather quick response. I'll check those 2 links out that you left for me to read. I just can't seem to find any updated info concerning this issue so thought i'd see if anyone had a clue. Thanks again.

The most up to date data merely reinforces the old data; it's hard as hell get get HCV sexually (but it can be done), especially when you are doing the very basic hetersexual deal and leaving out a few qualifiers like sex during periods, anal and having STD's like herpes warts etc.  I shouldn't state the obvious but use of viagra, meth and multiple partners could increase the exposure window;
.... who da thought it?

best,
Willy
