I don't know if anyone is aware but my nurse practitioner told me that if you are on treatment and receiving Medicare or any other form of "government" health care benefits, since treatment leaches the calcium from your teeth, with a prescription from your treating doctor and a willing dental provider, Medicare will pay for your dental care during and for a period after treatment.

Problem may be finding a dentist willing to treat when you are immunosuppressed.

I actually don't find this surprised.  I had to have total jaw reconstruction which required braces half way through when I was 35 and it was all covered by my major medical.  I was born with a severe overjet that eventrually caused TMJ and lots of headaches and the only way to correct it was TMJ surgery followed by the jaw reconstruction.

Hi All -

I found out kinda by mistake. When I was listed one of things I had to take care of was making sure my teeth were free of cavities, infections, so forth - basically maintained as best as I could. I figured I'd have to sell my beautiful first born, but everything was covered. Now I admit I do go to a clinic that was set up with a sliding scale fee, partly because many with $$ still couldn't find a dentist since we don't have that many that are good here, partly because in the winter this is always a financially depressed area.
Their computer found that I had no dental coverage, so we went sliding scale - then when I lost insurance because of the divorce proceedings - we couldn't have maintained the premiums in this economy anyway - I stopped having to pay anything but get watched over like I'm a millionaire.

My suggestion to any and everyone is look around and don't give up.
