"It ain't braggin' if you done it." - Dizzy Dean

Hi there -

Is there anyone out there who found a way to or the best way to lose stress. I've been having a dilly of a time. I listen to calming music to fall asleep and I've been sleeping well even with an afternoon nap, eat according to specs, walk about 10 miles a day, am active, and yes, hubby and I after a brief trial are done. I also have been able to take the bus now that winter is gone. (The cold and high winds here wore me out like crazy.) Yoga makes me want to smack someone, but maybe if I use the t.v. it will work this time.

My poetry has been a good buddy and art. Even though it is stressful, I fall right into mode and most everything else drops away or I use the anger/stressors/frustrations as prompts.

We've even made good adjustments on my meds.

Maybe it's just been a bad, bad year and at some point I'll be able to get my sunny self back.

I don't know, it just is always here - by the way no caffein passes these lips.

Thanks,
Susie

Susie, I talked to my sweet doctor (who is my sons age) about stress. Everyone has stress that lives ! He says that

Exercise is very good (You do that)
Having a good hobby(you do that)
Marriage problems is a stressor
Money problems is a stressor
I look for things to stress about.......Life is not easy on the best of terms. We live in a stressful world.
I do not watch television during the day. I listen to good music.
Do you have a good friend you can talk to, tell your innermost feelings to? This helps !
Prayer helps.
I am sure I could think of more, cause I am a very stressful person

I kinda look for it.LOL
It is serious, Looks like you are doing everything right,,,,,10 miles a day? WOW that would kill me....
I have lost 13 lbs. so I am feeling better...Good luck..you can win this one.....Betty

Ummm...my transplant team, after having me seen by a psychiatrist, decided that I needed to be on xanex and lexapro since it helps anxiety. Not promoting pharmaceutical use but times the benefit outweighs the risk...Keep your spirits high...robin

Hi All -
Thank you for chirping in. Yes, I do everything I can. But like a shrink nce told me, you're all better, but I can't do anything about (fill in the blank - husband, parents, kids, boss, etc.).

Some of the problem/stressors I can only do so much about. My problem is, with my med  wars, sometimes from depression med wars, sometimes tummy meds wars, I don't get listened to much - everything is about me being imbalanced by the meds and sickness. I guess I have to let that go, say my piece, and leave it on the back burner to sizzle out like it should.

Betty - WOW good weight drop, you even sound better. That's a hard one to do.

Love you all,
Susie

The hard thing about stress is that it is often caused by things beyond our control that is difficult to accept. With your health issues, med issues, doctor issues, family issues and personal issues...it would be hard to believe you wouldn't be stressed. Love you Miss Susie Q.
