To all those who have received transplants BLESSINGS to you. Mike was moved to a regular room 28 hours after transplant. Mike was home 5 days after his transplant. He continues to do well. Day 15 post transplant platelets are 238,000, wbc 7.5, ast 50, alt 80, we are so thankful. Headaches and some cramping are the issues we are having. Dr. stated all this would go away.
Blessings,
Glory

Prograf causes headaches in about 60% of patients taking it...also tremors are common. Congratulations on the new liver and the first year post-transplant is the hardest. Keep a good support system around you because you will both need it.

Great news glory and mike -
This year might have its ups and downs but at least you can see the light at the end of the tunnel again.
Stay strong together,

Thank you all for your words of encouragement. Robin who would have thought 10 years ago on the hepatitis C neighborhood where we met that you and my husband would have Transplants? We off to 2010 transplant reunion tomorrow. Keep me posted Robin on your progress.
Blessings

Mike is coming up on his 3 month anniversary. It's amazing how quickly your body heals itself after transplant. Where is the transplant reunion being held? Life will totally change for you both as time passes.
Gosh...I've not been to the hood in years. Got too crazy for me and that's getting pretty crazy. LOL

Though I'm not looking forward to my day under the knife (frankly sacred) I know dear friends here and in the forum who have been given a whole new life fof the transplants they have received.

Susie...treatment, I've decided, is harder than transplant. But, after 2&1/2 years, I don't remember many negatives about transplant but treatment is fresh in my mind. I didn't think treatment was hard until I got off of it. Slowing I am impressed with how much better I feel. Both were well worth the discomfort that is associated with it.
