Leaves are turning, air is brisk
Halloween lights and pumpkins at risk
Neighborhood demons and candy galore
On Freddy, On Jason for a good night of horror

The footballs are aimed with passionate care
As hopes of a championship linger in the air
Homecoming dresses run amok of all fashion
Dances accelerate or extinguish the passion

The garden is picked and light clothes are packed
Lawn mowed short and wood neatly stacked
Unfinished summer chores are forgotten over cider
As the last insect falls except for one lonely spider
