Missy

As you well know on my first round I had a bad rash blistering and also aminia which I was treated with procrit. Hopefully this 2nd round these will be better with less side effects they told me they would possibly load me up with zortexts or something to combat the itching prior to starting the medicataion Ribarivin and Invicik.  What are some good medication which can combat the itching or rash.

Mine got so bad I did finally wind up seeing a dermatologist to get Rx creams for it.  I'm actually still having some issues and I've been off tx for 9 months LOL.

The rash gets very bad and it also leaves scare or  bad pitting if you pick when they turn into sores.  I had many creams for my skin.  My doctor wrote a script for Triamcinolone Acetonide cream 1% apply 2 to 4 times a day, dammm this cream comes in a small tube and if you used it as directed you would be going thru a tube of cream a day.  I received about 6 tubes with 4 refills.  It help at times to releive alittle bit of the itching.  The other cream or moisturizing skin cream that I perferred is Vanicream which my dematologist and physician recommended plus it comes in large container 1 lb per jar.  I am sure there are other moisturizing creams .  I guess it is good to make sure your skin is moist as possible....dry skin is not good.  Any other creams that works good for others that have the side effects for rash.

Randy,

I was recently switched over to all the Vanicream products by my dermatologist, including sunscreen.  They have me using Cetaphil soap on my body.

Ray C here back and treating with the new therepy, incivik and the other 2 from the past.  My counts from Jan of 2008 which was 625,000 is now at 18,000,000.  A bit alarming to me but not to the GI???  My liver panels haven't really change, except I actually got a normal last summer and my alt/ast???  forget whats what at times  but they were normal last summer.

Ray,

Viral counts don't mean anything.  High or low, neither reflects liver health.  Good luck with treatment.

Thanks again Doug.  The Dr. has tried to pry this into my brain but I do math for a living.  It is hard to look at viral load.  He tells me the liver functions are what are the most important.

Know what you mean Ray, just doesn't seem right.  But I have personally seen viral loads > 100 mil with Stage 0 and viral loads below 16,000 with end stage so I have learned to accept the oddity.

Ray

That is great results from your labs and your liver function test.  I am just waiting to start my first round of the triple threat treatment in Oct after I get my stress EKG and Echocardigram, .  This will be my 2nd round of 48 wks or 24 depending on my results.
