Keep your fingers crossed.... tomorrow I should get the results of my breast biopsy ... if they will give them to me over the phone.   I'm feeling really confident . I finally had the nerve to look at where the incision was.  It just so happens that it is in the same exact spot that I had a scar from an port type implant called a Hickman Catheter that they had given me back in 1983 when I had leukemia.   Basically it was a catheter that they implanted near my collarbone, fed through a main artery in my heart with a pliable tube that came out of my chest, right in that spot on my breast that they just biopsied.   This was how they gave me my chemo and drew my blood way back then because my veins were shot.  They don't use these types of ports anymore.  So I'm feeling pretty good that this is just scar tissue that after 28 years has decided to start calcifying.  I did ask the surgeon if this could be what was showing up and he didn't seem to think it was but ... heck... I'd rather thing positively.   Grin

Good luck to you both.  Waiting is so hard.  I'm hoping for the best possible outcomes in both cases.

Sending all my positives your way Winona.   I did talk to the surgeon's office this morning ... the results are in but he hasn't seen them yet.   They told me he would probably call me this afternoon and that he will indeed give me the results over the phone and not make me schedule an appointment for results.

In the mean time ... I worked out for 45 minutes in the pool, cleaned the shower/tub, bleached down the kitchen and so on and so forth LOL.

I have breast cancer.   Huh  WHAT THE FUCK!!!! (feel free to edit me Willy).  Leukemia at 23, HCV from 25- 51 now this ... C'mon was I that horrible in my prior life?

I have ductal cancer in situ ... it does have a 100% cure rate with either lumpectomy or mastectomy and radiation.  I see the surgeon on Wednesday.

Wow...... I was hoping for something different than this.  I like the sound of 100% cure rate.  It is hard to wrap your mind around.  I was really expecting a false alarm type post.

You know damned well that it doesn't have to do with your past life or this life.

It must feel a little like being DX'ed w/ HCV; the shock, the fear all that.  Give yourself some time, don't think about the worst outcomes and negatives.  You are going to come thru this......

Love,

Willy

Hey Willy,

Can you call Susie and tell her ... she was so kind and called me today to check up on me but I had a call coming in and had to cut her short ... I'm just not up to making a zillion phone calls at the moment ... I think all I can handle right now is half a zillion.

Thank you Willy and thank you group.   I always know I can come here when I'm having a crisis.  The people in this group so define the true meaning of the word "support".
