Well, I'm back from Columbus and I had an AWESOME time at my husband's family reunion AND ... I got to visit Jack Hanna's home for critters, one of the most famous zoos in the world, The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.   It was HUGE!!!!!  Almost like treking through Disney World.

But alas, reality bites ... my mastectomy is 2 weeks from today (8/31/11).  My step mom is flying in on August 30 and will be staying until 9/7 to help out.  My next door neighbor is going to help get me back and forth to my appointments for the next 8 months and our very own Lyn is driving down from Daytona to be my private duty nurse on the day of surgery and is going to stay in the hospital with me overnight.  So in a way I guess I'm as ready as I'm ever going to be.

Anyway I'm back for a couple weeks.

Unfortunately Lyn's request for that day have was denied ... probably because it's so close to Labor Day ... but I still have my step - mom and Bill and lots of help from the neighbors.

2 days and counting.

2 more days....  wow.

You've got to be scared, nervous, Bill too I'd guess.

I'll be thinking of you all this week.  I think you'll come through like a champ.  You are still going to be YOU, that will not change.  It is astounding how many women face this every year.  I'm just happy that this is one of those deals where the outcome is known.  I wan't aware that things had improved to that extent.

Thinking of you.....
