Last box of meds comes next week.  Do 19th shot Friday.

Third blood transfusion tomorrow, know that seems harsh but to offset that I have done no dose reduction, no procrit, and my hemoglobin is kept stable between 8-10.  WBC not so hot, 0.7, ANC 500.  Any lower neupogen but hematologist wants to avoid if possible.

This has been easier than expected and easier than previous tries, Incivex and its butt burning glory included.  It has had effect, my grades are down but so are a lot of others.  I took complete care of four patients today and was on my feet for over ten hours.  Managed to work around c. dif, MRSA, VRE, pneumonia, etc and never get sick.

Bottom line, not fun but can be done.

Doug

That is wonderful news, 19th shot already...I am sure you feel like it had been a long time.  I am glad you are still able to go to school and work.  I start next monday Nov 7th on my Round 2.

My Mantra....

Sorry about the transfusions but it does show your determination. And I am guessing your "bad" grades are what some othesr are trying to get too.
Conrats! And is that a light I see over there!

Randy,

Oddly it is the opposite this time, time seems to be flying by.  Maybe know it is only 24 weeks, maybe knowing 85% cure, I don't know but most tx vets seem to think this round is faster and easier.  Be curious to see what you find after the halfway mark.

Jazz, no sure if determination is the correct word, possibly stubborn or stupid might be more accurate.  It is really fear.  First two treatments I ended up transfusing, using procrit, reducing riba, and relapsing 30 days later.  Bah humbug, not this time.
