"The Dragon" another view.

(Apolgys to Peter, Paul and Mary.)
Puff the Magic Dragon
was slang for Hep C.
And froliced in our bllod and cells
in a land called you and me.
Little Jack the Hepper
hates that racal Puff
and give him shots
and pills and lots
of other nasty stuff.
Dragons live forever
but not so you and I.
And if the dragon does get slain
we still are going to die.
So why not take it easy?
Why live life as a war?
All that we know
is that we'll live
until we live no more.

Nice twist to a good old song, Tara. Puff the Magic Dragon was slang for weed, or maybe not so much slang, but they were singing about the bobo.
But you put it in a way that relates to our dilemma, and the way you put it is surely one way to deal with it... total acceptance. Certainly eliminates the stresses to a large degree... at least temporarily. But you'd always know you have it in you, eating away at your innards, and you'd also know that it's going to be a shortcut to deaths door. Many of us saw it as an imperative action thing, like we'd better get started on killing this beeyach before it gets us too weak to fight it.
Cool work though.
Have you seen Mary lately? Man, she really went deep and wide. Peter and Paul seem pretty well preserved though. She needs to cut back on the pastries.

Might as well add something here... I reread my post and I've been thinking that it is possible that by doing nothing (except proper diet, drinking a lot of water, etc.) we could extend our lives. I mean, the med's haven't worked with me anyways, and if I'm an example, then I'd say try them maybe once (if at all), and if that doesn't work try alternatives with good diet, water, etc.
The way I feel now, it is possible that the two treatment regimens were too much, and they may have caused more damage than good. I really feel torn up now, and I haven't felt much improvement since stopping in December. If I could wind back the clock I might not be so quick to go for a second round.
You may be on to something Tara.

Hello Tara and Joris!
I couldn't, but jump in here!
I heard a story of an earthquake that turned an entire town upside down.
A traveler happened upon this town after the quake and noticed an old man leaning against the ruins of a building.
With a inquisitive gester, the traveler said to the man, " Are you alright Sir? Is there anything I could do to help you? Are there others alive or wounded? What a tragedy!
The man looked into the travelars eye's and said; "All are gone but myself, I'm ninety years old and have lived in this body, in this town since I was born."
The travelar ask's; "What will you do? Will you come with me and I'll take you to help?"
The man respond's; "I will be staying. I will keep picking up one boulder, one rock, one stick at a time."
The moral of the story for me is. It's not about all our tragedy, our mortality. It is about keeping a promise to
love oursleves, so that no matter what, to keep picking up those boulders in our path's no matter, as our life unfold's before us. Showing up, day in and day out.
Tx! What can I say?

Thanks all.
I saw them on TV, and one of the guys said that the song is NOT (and never was) about Marijuana.
And, I'm not really telling anybody to take or not take the meds. Just offering another way of looking at the whole thing.

And, while I'm at it, hre is another, earlyer and more seriouse poem on the same theme.
I CAN NOT HATE THE DRAGON
Underneith the surface, smaller creatures dwell.
They don't see or hear or think or taste or feel or smell.
Some call them "The Dragon"
but they don't live in caves.
They live deep inside us.
They surf our blood like waves.
Underneith the surface
smaller creatures dwell.
Sometimes we feed them poisons they can't see or taste or smell.
Some people call them dragons
But no sword can pierce theire skin.
the caves in which they live are small
and no knight can get in.
When we feed them poisons
poisons fill our sea.
It's hard to kill a dragon when
it lives in you and me.
Sometimes little dragons die
from poisons in the sea.
Sometimes dragons do survive
but not so you and me.
I can not hate The Dragon
nor call either life a waste.
That which dragons feed on
or that which can not taste.

Thanks Tara, I stand corrected. In the 60's when it was a polular song, everyone was saying that it had to do with pot, and recalling that, was basing my words on those memories.
Keep up the creative writing.
