Grin Grin Well it seems my man Scooter is doing great we had gotten great news as some of you probably already know he had his PCR test and his viral load count dropped from 1,330,000 to less than 600 in 12 weeks which is a really good sign since he is geno type 1a, 3rd stage cirrohsis so hopefully he will become undetectable by the next PCR test.
It's been a long hard fought road at times I didn't think we would make it with them AWFUL Angry sides but I stuck it thru with him with all the Love and Support I could give so hopefully this may help someone else whose spouse is going thru the same thing Smiley.
Hang in there and be strong for your spouse who is going thru this, help them slay that dragon even if it's just being there for them when needed and staying out of the way when those sides act up.
Thanks to all wh have helped me thru some rough times with words of encouragement. Bless You!!!

You must be very happy with scooter's results this far.  It is awesome to see things happening. It will make the rest of this aweful journey somehow bearable.  You seem to be doing okay, just be strong and take care of you!!  There is light at the end of this TUNNEL Cool
God bless you both

Well, it's Fathers Day and we have had a good day.
My husband has had Hep C for almost 3 decades now, and it is slowly taking him. He finally went on his SS disability3 yrs. ago  and now is the house husband. It was a great adjustment at first but as time goes on he has realized he can not function the way he used to. Our most recent visit to Mayo Clinic did, however, encourage him. Basically for the severance of his disease he is in pretty good condition. He attends AA/NA meetings, (clean & sober now 18 yrs), which helps with his mental and spirtual part of living with a chronic disease. I have learned to find activities I can do alone, I have my church and support groups, family and friends. When he is agitated or upset I do not respond. I simply read, relax with a bath, or massage, take a walk, whatever helps me to cope with the anger. Remembering I didn't cause the disease, I can't cure it, nor can I control it. Living One day at a time is sometimes more like one hour, minute, at a time. But we are getting there. We have been together now for almost 31 yrs. and I'm not quitting on him now. The Lord will take him when he is ready and I can only be thankful for the days of serenity we do have. I hope some of this is encouragement to others that made read it and know that you are effected by this horrible disease too, just in a different way. Good luck to all and God Bless.

Hi Susie Q Smiley
Welcome with warm smiles and hugs.  You are a great inspiration for all us spouses who are going through this with them.  I can only learn everyday how I might respond differently. I want to be an encouragement to my husband not a brick wall.  Thank you because I see that we can conquer this together.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband. Take care and have an awesome day! Smiley
I look forward to seeing you post here
