The answer to that question is I don't know...This is all new to me. When I read today(for 3 hrs) that some people were on their second round...Oh boy, I thought I'd melt it seems like I'm the only one on a daily shot regiment...My Dr has great credentials, M.D., Gastroenterology and Hepatologh and nutrition. He says he has treated over 1000 HCV patients. He told me that I have a 70% chance of "killing the dragon" if my levels are normal after the first six weeks...then he wants me to continue daily shots at half the dose for 5 more months.....monthly bloodwork and Dr. visits.... and the Gatorade, I did it for the first month and that was it...Do you realize how many flavors there are of Gatorade...No wonder I have lost 12 lbs...if the cure doesn't kill you the Gatorade will ! indigestion --- yes.  A lot of the same things work that are suggested for nausea.  Especially eating small meals.  I also cannot tolerate spicy foods.  Peppermint tea seems to help but I have since read that peppermint is not good for hepatitis.  Does any one know if it is OK??

During a recent health check segment broadcasted on my local news station, the anchorwoman said that peppermint is not good for the liver.  I was surprised because I had planned on getting some. I'll check to see if I can get more info on that and post it.  Ginger crystals are suppose to help, though.
Anyone know where to pick those up?

I'm not sure if it is the same thing as crystallized ginger, but you can get that in any good natural food store.  Just chew on little pieces.  I was annoyed about the peppermint.  At our local HCV support meeting a few months back, the guest speaker was a certified aromatherapist.  She advocated using peppermint, tea, a couple of drops of the essential oil on a handkerchief to smell when you get nauseated (that does work).  Later I heard about peppermint being one of the herbs that is bad for the liver.  So it would be nice to know for sure.

Hi Joandra,   there are There are different types of enzyme supplements that are relatively inexpensive. It's my understanding that they are beneficial for more than just indigestion  ..... they can improve the bodys ability to assimilate what we need from the food we eat. I hope this helps.    .......Om Shanti,

i just saw your posting from a while back on indigestion and gas.i swear by bean o.chew a couple tablets,i never tried liquid, right at the time you are eating.the bean o keeps the gas from forming...works for me Shocked

i take an indonesia ginger  candy: TING TING JAHE
for nausea  usually one works but sometimes up to 3 if i happen to drink extra coffee which i am back to one in the morning or one every 24 hours. i buy it at the asian market in tacoma wa on 38th street.i know any asian areas in any large city will carry it,but if you cannot find it send me your mailing address & i'll send you some.

on the night i take my pegasys shit  oops shot, excuse me...i use a 25mg compazine suppository,so far i have avoided the nausea that i usually can feel creeping up after interferon.the supp seem better than the 10mg compazine pills  plus it is a antiphysicotic(sp Huh) as an aside

I have had the same problem with nausea.  And it started as soon as I took the pills.  Thank God for the last couple of weeks I have not had the problem.  I have been drinking a lot more water and a lot less soda and eating several small meals throughout the day.  I hope you find something that helps soon, I know how awful it is to deal with.

Hello MissyMouse, thanks.  I am in my 7th week of treatment.  I was on treatment about 12 years ago but did not complete it.

ROFL, I got cursed.  I lost my cookies last night and spent 20 min. laying on the bathroom floor before I decided I was o.k.  You would have thought I had a hangover LOL.
