I just had to sneak in one more forum topic before I gave up my administrative privilages  Wink

So much passion flows across this board. I see it daily, and am always left in awe by in all.

I'll post first, and hope that many others will follow.

Enjoy this section.
It's for our healing, and is a constructive way to let all those emotions flow out.

~The Wind Chimes ~

It was early spring, the 29th day of March.
The breeze off the bay was unusually warm for this time of year.
Tired and worn from the long and lonely day now behind her, she welcomed in the dark as she watched the last of the suns deep red glow fade off behind the horizon.
She sat on her front porch steps, gazing out over the water, listening attentively to the wind chimes as it rang out it's familiar song.
The wind chimes...
A gift from her son who had died. One year, four months, and seven days prior. She always loved the light airy sounds of the little chimes that hung from the eve of her porch. She remembered the day that he hung them there.
It was Mother's Day.
He had felt ashamed that day because he hadn't enough money to buy her much of anything. The little chimes was all. And a blank card with a picture of a mountain and a meadow covered in a blanket of wild purple lupine, and it read;
Mom ~
Words don't really do the job of expressing the love and gratitude I feel for you.
All I can say is "I love you more mommy!"
Thank you for all your help and advice.
I feel really lucky to have an awesome mother and best friend in one.
Love Ya Ma!

Little could either one know at the time, how much she would come to treasure these simple gifts.
The card now sits along with his picture. Her crosses draped over the frame.
Angel figurines placed nearby, as if to protect her priceless memories...

And the wind chimes....

You miss him terribly, don't you Laurie? I'd like to hold you for a while. Your soul is gentle and loving. You're the doe on the knoll, overlooking the meadow below.

God bless you with all good things.

May that ocean breeze, bring you and yours much deserved healing and smiles.

We have several chimes along the outside of the back porch. I could here them as I was reading, and could feel a gentle cool breeze, coming into the house, it's 4 am and the birds are chirping outside the window, what a beautiful way to spend the morning. Reading the transparencey of a soul, that shared their love, with you in a selfless way!

Thought's and Prayers to you Laura. Smiley

Stephen

ps. Thanks again for intiating the Forum format of the Spouses, Partners and Caretakers, along with this one. Which I'm pretty sure will get lot's of action. Grin Wink Cool

Thanks Joris...
And yes, I do miss Thane terribly.

Thank you Stephen, and I'm happy you had a beautiful morning.
As far as the Spouses forum, it should have been added to the board a long time ago.
I just listened, the rest was easy.

God bless us all
