Hello All!
I am trying to form some kind of group for people in Northwest Indiana with Hep C.  Currently there are no groups that I can find...and believe me I have searched.  If you are interested, please contact me at sdicharia@hotmail.com  I am more than willing to do just about whatever it takes to get this thing going.  We need each other and it would be a great place for friendship, support and just to know we are not alone.  Cause I'll tell ya....I am really beginning to feel alone around here.  I just can't locate anyone else like me!  Thank you for your support...

Hi Susan, welcome. It's a bummer when you feel alone w/ a disease like this...sometimes i feel alone too cause there's not a support group in the town where i live but that's why i come here. I realize it's not the same thing but it sure helps.
There was a group here before i got hcv but apparently it couldn't hold itself together.

What i would suggest, if you have the desire and energy, is put up notices at all the clinics and pharamacies that will allow you to about wanting to start a group.

also, at this site check out the " News, Friends, Prayers and More" subject and go to HCV anonymous meeting starter packs. Good Luck, My thoughts and prayers go out....~*~
Om Shanti,
Scott

Susan:  I will echo what Scott has written.  I am in Iowa.  There was a support group..... but that has folded.  I have considered starting one, but have also wondered whether I might be overextending myself.  Sometimes for things to happen though....... we have to do them ourselves.  One of my favorite expressions.....
"if you want to get something done; ask a busy person!"

That is one reason that I'm considering starting a group in my area.  The actual amount of time it takes to do something like it probably takes the same amount of time that I might think about finding one....driving to one..... or waiting for someone to start one.

If I do it...... I'll write about it.  I wish that people that were doing it (as in starting a group), or visiting groups would post about their experiences.

Best,
Willy

Just my opinion -- but I like here as opposed to the "in person support group" having been to both.  Where else can I get support at 5 am, drinking coffee in my pj's ??  Grin  Now that would be scarey in public, don't ya think ?  It's always open here and only for a couple of hours a month out there!

Ok. C'mon, be honest. Am I the only one out here that wants Donna to post pics of herself drinking coffee in her pj's?
