I'm in the process of researching some stats on the long-term health effects of combination antiviral therapy.

What can anyone tell me about that.

Thanks - Newbe.

That's a tough one.  Have you checked at http://www.hepatitismag.com

What type of info are you looking for?  As far as benefits, the only benefit would be if you clear and remain clear.  Then you would be virus free, your liver could regenerate, and possibly some of the extrahepatic symptoms might clear.

There are probably lots of possibly long term problems related to treatment.  The most recent one I researched was treatment induced mania and hypomania, even can occur after interferon treatment is finished.  I believe that happened to me.  It either started after treatment or during treatment, just was too sick physically to be hypomanic.  Who knows how long it will last.  I did find "real" medical documentaiton to support it, too.

Probably not much help. . . There are a lot of good sites with all sorts of research, just start doing some searches.  There is a lot of slanted information out there as well, both pro and con.

Good luck
