Hey Roman! -Glad you're here!  There's a lot of good info and people here ... if you haven't already, you may want to take a little time and read all the "posts" under the various topics -I sure found it interesting ... and gave me some hope -most of all, reminded me that I really wasn't alone in this thing.

I've been in the chat room a couple of times, but haven't been successful yet ... will try what Laura (Too Tall) suggested this Tuesday.  I have, however, gotten some good responses from some of the people who visit here.

I'm geno 1a on treatment since 1/31/03 with Pegasys and Rebetol ... currently "non-detectable" at 12 weeks. Was diagnosed 8/2/02. -Have experienced many sides, and sometimes more than one at a time ... but I keep on keeping on ... taking baby-steps to fight this dragon.

Hope to hear from you again soon ... keep coming back!

Chin up ... and NEVER give up!  Wink

Sincerely,
Carolyn

Hello Roman!

Welcome to our online hcv community! We are very happy to have you join us!
There are several other members here that are vietnam vets, as well as share in our disease... You're not alone!
hope you will continue to come back, and often.
We are holding hcv 12 step meetings in the foyer room off the main chat room on Tuesday and Thursday nights at; 4:30 pm PST
    5:30 pm MST
    6:30 pm CST
    7:30 pm EST

You are very welcome to join in at anytime. Feel free to email me, and I can send you the pdf file of the HCV Positive Attitudes 12 Step Workbook that we are using as a guide to work the steps. You only need to have Acrobat Reader to view, and print out the pdf file of the book. If you don't have Acrobat reader, you can download that free of charge, and there are instructions on how to do that under "Our Book" on the left hand side menu of the main page here.

The chat room is sporadic... I was moderating Saturday nights, but found myself alone in there much of the time, so did not go in last week, or tonight. If you would like, you could email me, (and this goes for anyone else  that is looking for support or info or whatever, via the chat room), and I could most likely come in, or arrange for someone else to be there for you.

Take care, and hope to meet you one of these evenings in our chat room...

Laura.... Too_Tall...

 Smiley
Thank you for this forum.  I am desperate to connect with others experiencing this same problem.  I am in my 15th month of treatment and it has brought the viral load down  but it does not seem to eradicate the HVC like it does for some people.  I'm going back to the doctor in July.  If nothing has changed I am going to be referred to an experimental program at Beth Israel Hospital.  I feel sick all the time and te idea of taking my current meds plus new ones is making me very nervous.
Thanks for listening and hopefully I can connect with some good people. Smiley Smiley

Hi Friarboy,

Wow 15 Months on treatment!  That's a long time.  I thought 48 weeks was the longest.  Whats your genotype?

Anyway, I hope you start feeling better real soon!  I will be starting my treatment next week and I am nervous too.......

Take care and keep posting, you will find some great people here.
