Just a word of encouragement to those doing or contemplating TX.

I am clear 9 months after TX.  My liver enzymes are perfectly normal.  Not only that, but they are right in the middle of the normal range.

I was a 1a with a viral load that had been as high at 1.9 million.  My ALT was 400 when I was diagnosed.  I think I had the virus for about 8 years before starting TX.

I am a 40 year old man and I did the pegysus once a week with 1200mg riboviron every day.  I never missed a dose and sometimes I'd move my shot day up one day.

If you are an alcoholic and you slip during you're TX don't give up.  I admit to drinking during the last 7 months of my TX although I stayed perfectly sober for the first 4 months.  I'm sober now....and clear.

Mike:  It's good to hear from you. It's even better to hear your news.  I am a 1a myself and am always encouraged to hear news of success.  If it can work on 1a's....... it can work on any genotype.

Thanks for writing.  I often wonder what happens to people after they leave.  I'm glad that it worked out so well for you.

Best,

Good going Mike.  Nice to know the alcohol didn't ruin things.    Love the success stories.
