Although I should have I didn't get my eyes examined before I started my TX in 2005.  During the 48 weeks I started having blurred vision with some instances.  After TX I went in to get my eyes examined and my eyesight had gotten better but my reading eyes, worse.  Two years later and time for another exam I will be interested in finding out what's going on as I am experiencing some blurriness again in the same instances.  I am assuming it's my reading eyes again.  Lost my regular eye glasses a few weeks ago and have to wait for the money, now.  Oh well, Danny paid a lot on high end frames for me but fashionable does go out of fashion. Tongue  Not 2 months ago I went in to have the frames straightened and tightened and they told me I would probably get another three years out of them. Undecided

Kerry...I'm interested in what kind of lenses one can get for the computer opposed to regular reading glasses.  Could you fill me in?

Hi Joyce,

Not Kerry here, but my eye doc suggested getting lower power. . . as in longer focal length readers for the computer since it's farther away.  I'm using 1.75 right now for using a laptop. I like 2.25 or 2.5 for reading, depending on the size of print.

Maybe Kerry knows more. . . .

take care,

Max

Dear Joyce,

I got a 2.5/2.0 script in the "Bifocal", and a lessor strength for the "Arms length/computer" distance.  I am having a heck of a time getting used to the bifocal thing, but heck, I'm YOUNG, and I can do it     Grin   Grin   Grin

The frames are...uh...trendy, and I really don't dig that at all.  What I want is a pair of good, old fashioned Roy Orbison style frames, with the lenses tinted purple.  Wal-farts doesn't have them, and nobody else does either, at least so far.  I may have to order them off the internet, then buy the lenses, and hope I can find someone who can grind my prescription...

How's Danny?

My Love & prayers to you both!!!!!

{{{Thanks Guys}}}

Using a lessor strength is what I did find worked well for me but them I couldn't understand why it was harder on my eyes to read the blur...lol Cheesy   You're both in conjuntion on this matter so now I just need to buy a stronger pair for reading and "Problem Solved!" Kiss   At least until I get my eyes examined. Tongue

I want to thatnk both of you for your swift reply.  Eyes and being able to see is such a delicate matter.  Thanks for bumping the two posts related to vision, Kerry. Smiley

Max.....Missed you in Chat on Wednesday.  That will probably be the last Wednesday I get in there for a long while.  It's normally the night for my Home Group AA meeting but Danny and I had the opportunity to go visiting, together.  It's been a long time since we've been out as two so I opted to be with him instead of going to the meeting.  Got home in plenty of time to log on.  Hope All is going well with you as is expected at this point! Kiss

Kerry.....When I first had seen that you bumped both threads on "Vision & Eyes" I thought you were absent for something to do...lol   No, really I was wondering why you just didn't start a new thread but the previous posts have a lot of good info so now I know. Wink   Good thinking...Good topic.

Danny is doing really well.  He's had a few days of nausea but I bought him some organic ginger ale and it seems to do the trick; Sometimes he needs to be reminded to put a little something like toast or crackers into his stomach, too.  For the most part he has been very kind & gentle with me emotionally and I see a tad of humor from him more often.  Maybe because I have been more kind & gentle with him.  I try real hard not to bug him with non-essentials.  Let's remember...that's for today and so far!  Thank You for asking. Kiss

Love You Both..... Cool

I used a Kombucha that was "Gingerade", and got great results...

Hello all,

Well, this thread made me feel better...I too have the feeling my eyes are always sore...similar to the "popping" sensation.  Thought it was just me...my dr. did require the eye exam and report from them before he allowed treatment, so they have a basis to go from.

Good to know this will improve after tx.

Blessings,

Lee

Talk about my putting an update late!

My appt with the ophthalmologist went well. There were no issues with my eyes and I was given both drops and gel to help me through tx.
I used the drops during the day, and then put the gel in my eyes at nite.

Man, what a difference that stuff made, back in 2005 LOL

Anyways, I recently went to have my eyes checked and it seems that there has been virtually no change in my vision since prior to my tx in 2005, so I opted to keep the rx for lenses and stick with the ones I have now.

I guess I was lucky with the eye issues; just super dryness that was fixed with drops.

It's always best to get your eyes checked if you notice any changes or have any difficulties. Better to check and find you need drops than to wait and find that tx is damaging your eyesight.

Pete

The sand in my eyes was the body lack of moisture.  Did you notice if your mouth is also dry?  Sometimes one of the sides is no saliva including tearducts dry up.  I used over the counter med "tears"  It was an eye drop that gave me relief.  I also couldnt eat white chicken meat, I near choaked.  Saliva glands just didnt work, I found myself carry around the water bottle 24/7 which was never ever empty.  I realized why water water water.

Pete,
That's what I had and I just used Liquid Tears and the gel for at nite. You don't need rx for it; just ask your pharmacist about drops for dry eyes.

Pete,

PAY TO HAVE YOUR EYES CHECKED. Maybe it's nothing. . . but there's some things that can happen that might affect your eyesight. . . permanently.
You can't be there for others if you don't take care of yourself first. I heard that from someone just yesterday.  Wink

I have that "sandy" feeling in the middle of the night when I wake up.  Absolutely kills me to open my eyes.
