Hi Phonenix,

I am also Genotype 1b and after my biospy my Dr. said I should begin treatment.  I am waiting until mid June.  I am sorry that your Dr. feels you are not a candidate for treatment.....not that I hear its any fun or anything!  I take Milk Thistle, supposed to detoxify the liver.  I also take Vitamin E, Green Tea exctract and a multi vitamin.  I can't seem to stay on any kind of veggie diet.  My dr. told me I can have meat if I want because the biopsy results were not too bad.  I get tired of reading all the labels and trying to eat things like soy, tofu and 'fake' cheeses.....Anyway I wish you the best on the veggie diet and I know I have seen many "alternative" ways to help treat the Hep C.  Just be careful.  There is a book/pamphlet called Herbs and Hepatitis.  It gives you a good idea of what you CAN have and what you CAN'T have.....

Just wanted to add that I take Essiac tea and I have felt better ever since I have started. It is cheaper to buy the tea in bulk or in packets to be made. It does smell icky while cooking though. It has helped my fatigue, headaches and digestion. I am also taking milk thistle and "trying" to eat better and drink more water. Good luck
