Biopsy Results & TX Plan Are In.....

(((((Hi All)))))
I went to my GI last Thursday. Came out of his office with the results of Grade 2 Stage 2 biopsy results and prescriptions for tx as soon as my health insurance responds. I asked the medical biller if there was any organization that might help monetarily with what my insurance won't cover in regards to the prescriptions.
She implied that there was but we'd wait & see what my insurance covers, first.
My Viral Load dropped another million but the Liver enzyme count has gotten much higher. Of course we know those enzymes have a way of jumping up & down.
The doctor gave me a notebook packet that includes a 24/7 "800" # to...educated in...Hep C nurses.
I am Genotype 1a. I am also Duo(?) Diagnosed Bipolar and have been on pysch meds for years. I have read & heard about as much as one person can about tx and I have done the homework.........I can't say I don't have any concerns but like I said before...the "One Day At A Time" philosophy is helping me not to go running off in my mind about every detail of the future.
I have never been so ready to start tx as I am right now and of course I want you all to remind me of that when the time is pertinent...
I love you all and am so blessed to have this group for support & friendship. I know the Good Lord walks with me.
Will let you all know when tx has started....

Hello 19Dragon52,
I found out last week I am also Grade 2, Stage 2. I will be getting a genotype test this week, then in a few weeks I have to "pass" a psych test before treatment, and then try to find a doc I am comfortable with.
The point is, the folks on this site have convinced me that treatment might be a very good idea, and so I am hoping you write about what is going on.
You sound quite brave and knowledgeable. I've got a couple of books that describe the "stages" but I haven't found out what "grade" means yet. There is a local support group that meets in a few weeks and I'm looking forward to talking to some people face to face about this hep C thing. For now I'm going to focus on work and keep putting one foot in front of another until I learn my optons, medically, financially, and emotionally.
I will pray that things go well for you. Please keep posting.

Joyce, I hope that you are feeling better by now. Those results are not too bad. You should have some healthy reserve no matter how TX goes. Now comes the "fun" part. With some luck and hard work you can get this virus licked.
Good luck on your start. We are all pulling for you.

Hi Joyce,
I have been waiting for your post. You are in my prayers and I appreciate your support in my posts.
I am also duo, geno 1, and ready for tx: start date 9/26.
God has been directing me and now, if I give it up; there will be days that he will carry me.
Keeping the faith that there will be days/years of dancing with God.
Big Love,
Janny

Joyce, sounds like you are ready for it and I wish you the best of luck. May your sides be mild and your viral response early. I was actually very eager to start once I had made my decision. Never regretted it.

No matter what the treatment outcome is, I know you can handle it. Sounds like you have educated yourself well and have a good health care team. Your relationship with a Higher Power and the experience stregnth & hope from this board will help. Sending prayers of peace your way. JACKSON

(((((All)))))
Thank You so very much for your support & prayers. Knowing that you are here for me, yourselves and others is very comforting. I always did look at this site as my home away from home.
I'm still waiting on insurance authorization but I have the 2 prescriptions in hand for when the o.k. comes through. I have COBRA (ouch!) right now which will cover 1/2 the cost of tx prescriptions but the billing
dept. at my GI's and myself are looking into other monetary supplemental possibilities for at least part of the remaining 50% cost.
Rona! I will be getting that phone # sent to you through Email. Sorry it wasn't sooner but I've been off the computer for a while.
Love To You All....I will definitely keep you posted!
