hi. i just got tested positive for hep c antibody.  found this site in the course of internet research.  i guess i'll get the follow up blood tests to show more details.  don't have insurance, am self-pay.  from what i've seen so far, it seems it could be anything from nothing to worry about to needing a new liver, to all sorts of things in between.  can the more comprehensive blood tests tell a lot?  biopsy is not an option right now, its all i can do to do the blood thing, have got a real strong neurosis of doctors.

Hi Cherie,
Welcome aboard!
Sorry to hear that you tested positive to hep c antibody.
Yes... The follow up blood work will give you more answers... But... really the only way to tell what shape your liver is in for sure, is through liver biopsy... If you can't swing the expense now, then it should be something to consider in the future... But one step at a time... I wish you all the best with your lab results! There are lot's of knowlegeable and compassionate people from all walks of life here in our group, who would be more than willing to help you find answers, ect. So if you have questions, or concerns, please post them, and someone will always answer you.
Hope you'll keep coming back, and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Take good Care!
