Hi all,

I don't know what I would do without this board, I started my first shot on Friday 5mls of PegIntron and 800mg of Rebetrol, 2 in morning and 2 in the evening.  I took my shot about 7pm and in the middle of the night I woke up with chills, body aches, and a fever, I took more motrin which seem to help.  Yesterday, Saturday I spent the whole day in bed, got up a few times but was So Exchausted.  I have Genotype 2b, stage 0-1 and my GI is going to treat me for 24 weeks.  Can anyone out there tell me if the side effects go away as time goes on, I've heard that the first few shots are the worst, has anyone experienced the same.

Hi Renee,

Everyone is different on how they manage their sides and how they tolerate it......In most cases the side effects that you are having usually do go away. My mom only had the fever, chills, body aches, etc with her first injection. I've heard that the first few weeks are the worst and in moms case, and many others......that seems to be true.
You can do this Renee....push yourself to get out of bed and go outside into the sunlight.......drink lots and lots of water and most importantly stay focused. Stay encouraged and positive. Remember you are fighting a disease, and always remember that YOU CAN WIN!!!!
Hang in there Renee.......your on your way..........
God Bless you......
Sincerely,
Lori
