How the heck do I upload a picture here?

Just trying to upload a picture to my profile....how does one do that?

Hi Sandy. I think I sent a picture to Dan, a moderator, and he managed to load it in my profile for me. They approached that question here before somewhere, about a year or two ago. If you want to put a picture in just one post, you can first put it in one of the many web sites that offer free picture posting and then copy the address to the post, but first you have to go up to the top of the message your writing and hit the "Insert Image" icon in the "Add YABBC tags:" list. Then, where you see the "URL" (in between the bracketed stuff) click in the URL part and replace it with the URL address of the place where your picture is online. It sounds weird, but it's really easy. Just goof around with it until it works.

Hopefully one of the moderators will respond and get you going on having your picture showing with all your posts.

Here is a free source for posting photos.  I've never done it..... I need to learn how.....I may yet try in the next few days.  I may also be able to dig you up a few other sorces of information.  I WANT that information posted in our Library so we can access it easily.

There are many 'free web site' web sites, where you can go in and build your own web pages. That's what I did with Geocities at geocities.com. Then, once you have established even the most basic web site, you can load a buttload of your photos in it and then be able to access them for posting later in places like this.

But to use a photo of yourself in all your messages, like what I have with all my posts, is a bit of a mystery to me. I had to send a photo (email) to Dan, a moderator here, and he managed to place it in my "account" (for lack of a better term) here. Since then it is displayed along with all of my info in the upper left corner of all my posts, and I think that was the question.

So, if Dan would kindly come to the rescue I think we'll all sleep easier knowing the mode of incorporating an identifying photo in all of our posts. I'm sure it makes some folks feel left out. Like, "Why can they do that and I can't?", and we don't want anyone feeling that way.

Dan? Are you in?

This post was from the old board which was a lost cause for pics. AL pretty much covered it for the old board.
On this board see link for how to do this much easier. You can upload a pic from your hard drive no 3rd party hosting involved. And no asking the evil crabby old moderator either.
