Hi
You guys are so sweet, you have moved me to tears that complete stangers care  about what is happening to me and my husband.Thankyou!!!!
I have not looked at this site for a long time and decided to have a quick peek and I find people wondering where i am . God bless youall !!

Im afraid I dont have any good news. My husb took a few months of the al;ternative therapy ozone treatment. He had to stay away from home and it cost a lot. He felt greta after and was a differenet man for a while. But it was temporarry. Maybe wit was mostly pschological?
Since then we have heard that the doctor is being taken to court for offering the ozone treatment as the govt says it has bad side effects, maybe they are right??
WE still didint get to England  for treatment, is not so easy leaving job and business and uptooting kids etc to a different culture etc just for treatment. England is my home but not my husb or my kids so we keep changing our mind whether to giv up everythoing here ad go to Uk for treamtent. The question is always is the grass greener on the other side??
But it always frustrates me that mental problems such as depression are taboo here. So we are o our own trying differnet things. I think he may be bipolar also. I understand the hep c and biploar much more now and understanding it and accepting it all is part of the battle . I guess in 2006 i was very confused and lost. Im used to all of iot now.
Husb always in bed, cant cope with the cold winter here in Africa( dont know how hed cope in England then!!),keeps getting flu, depressed. We jsut go round in circles while i go out to work and look after the kids .
Thanks for your concern

Pixie and Becky, I think it's a valiant effort to try and follow up with Shakira, however, some members come post a couple of times, then you never hear from them again.  This post was from 2006 and if you search for her last post, you can see it's been quite awhile since she's posted last (Feb 2007).  Sure hope she does return.

Hugs,  Smiley
Kat

Well, Kat...check it out! She DID come back on line and read her post after 2 years!

Nice to see you post on the borad again, Shakira!

Hello all, I havnt looked at this site for a while but Im back again.
My husb is still suffering and not really trying to help himself, very depressed. Lets all of lifes problems control him. But he is now considering interferon whereas before it was no way. We are quite desperate now. But if there is a possiblity that people get depressed etc, he is already bad so is it wise to start. We are in Egypt adn a hospital has offerned as a charity to give it free once a week. Normally you have to pay a lot. I am very suspisios as nothing in this country is free, there is always some trick. My husb thinks maybe they are offereing out of date vacines ( as has been done in the past )
I feel quite helpless and lost. There is no system here to help us and no such thing as mental health problems allowed!
He spends all day just trying to go to sleep and the cyccle continues,he gets more irritable wehn  he cant sleep so he doesnt sleep etc, while i goto work and keep everything togehter just about.
Any comments or advice as I cannot talk to anyone
Thanks

hey Shakira...why did y'all move from Africa to Egypt? Is there a difference in medical care available? I would think if your family was OK with moving this year for treatment in Egypt, you could get them to agree to go to the UK where you are from. That way you would have family support and a health care system that would be supportive of mental health issues with hepatitis treatment. Wishing you the best of luck and keep your spirits high...robin

Hello, we havnt moved anywhere. Egypt is in Africa.
Its not that easy to just leave, as kids in school half way through courses etc, business ties. .....
It does seem like the easiest solution  but not so easy .....

Nice learning moment for me. Africa is a big continent so I assumed you had moved since you referred to Africa and then Egypt. It is hard to move the family for sure. Is there a way to get private care for the mental health issues that go with treatment? I mean, it is such a common side effect. I do hope you work something out. I can't imagine how stressful it is for you. Keep your spirits high...robin
