If you liked the movie...... now read the book!  Matt Spurlock's "Don't eat This Book" is an enjoyable, if scarey read.  You'll learn a lot of useful information about the terrible food that we've eaten for decades, why so many of us are overweight, and why so many of us are sick.

If there is truth in the addage; "You are what you eat"........ then be scared, be very scared.

I include a few paragraphs so you might get the flavor and subject of some of which he writes;

      "In an amazing display of collective insanity, the meat producers of this country are feeding all sorts of animals to the animals they feed to us.  Dead pigs and dead horses are ground up for cattle feed, and so are dead chickens.  A lot of chicken manure gets mixed up into the feed in the process, so the cows are not only eating chicken, but chicken shit, which can spead salmonela, tapeworms, and chemicals like arsenic.  Not only are cows are fed dead chickens, but chickens are fed dead cows.  (cue "the Circle of Life" from the Lion King)
         You want to hear something really disgusting?  The cattle industry buys millions of dead cats and dogs from animal shelters every year, then feeds them to the cattle who end up in your burger"

Matt writes about not only fast food, but the ingredients and processes from which our food is made.  It's a great read, and one which will change your opinion about what you will want to eat in the future.  I highly recommend you reading it.  You can always suggest that your local bookstore or library order it if you can't find a copy.

Why is this placed in a HCV?  Many of us have poor health.  Perhpas some of our problems have nothing to do with our HCV infection and more with general poor nutrition.  Further, our HCV symptoms may be made far worse with poor choices made for food and drink.

I liked the book, but have been too busy to sit and read it all thru....and so I am renewing it (I got mine from the library).  I've already read certain sections to my kids because........ it isn't only about my health..... but my kids health as well.

Best,
Willy

I watched a TV program a few months ago regarding the beef industry in Canada, I could not believe what I was watching. It was incredible how the industry raises these animals and what is worse, the Feds allow it. I don't eat much beef anymore, but when I do, I want to know if it is organic! These cattle are pumped with anti-b's and steroids and growth hormones and who knows what else!!! It is no wonder why so many people are so sick. I use to love my hamburgers - not anymore - Supersize Me opened my eyes.

I just wonder what the health of the people will be in another 20 yrs.
