Awesome Snowflake,
I just read through all of your words.  I am speechless.  It is like you have taken so many of the thoughts that I have put them into words.  Wow, I just don't know what to say.  Guess that is why you write and I read.  Thanks for sharing with us all.

Snowflake that was excellent. I hope it was healing for you to put it out there and to paper. I haven't been here in months. I was a little shocked to read where I was then compared to now. And, I must say, proud of all that I've lived through, survived and allowed to adjust my perspective. When i looked back I couldn't help but notice I was responding to your post. So congrats on your hard work for yourself as well. I decided a long time ago that depression can be a gift if not denied. By that I mean that it is forward moving, much as it feels like you are stuck in a holding pattern, because you care enough to wonder why. When you stop caring then there is only the big masquerade. I hope you are compiling your writing. Stop, reread from them and watch your evolution.

MAN AND GREED

LIFE, WHERE DID IT COME FROM, WHAT IS IT
NOTHING EVER CHANGES, YOUR JUST IN A PIT

THERES NO ESCAPE, NO CHANGES TO MAKE
IT'S JUST THERE REPEATING, TAKE, TAKE, TAKE

YOUR EMPTY INSIDE, SLOWLY BEING ATE AWAY
IT OFFERS FEW REWARDS, FOR THE PRICE YOU PAY

LOOK BACK AT THE HUMAN RACE, GREED, GREED
ALL FOR THINGS THAT YOU DON'T EVEN NEED

THATS THE WAY IT ALL STARTED AND WILL END
NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY, WE ALL SINNED

I'M NOT TO SAY WE SHOULD GIVE UP, CHERISH WHAT YOU CAN
BE KIND,FOR I HAVE TO BELIEVE IT'S ALL IN THE PLAN FOR MANKIND...

A LIFE OF PAIN IS SUCH A DRAIN
ON MY MIND AND ON MY BODY
IT LEAVES ME IN DARKNESS
ALONE WITHOUT HOPE
KNOWING IT WILL NEVER CHANGE

DAY IN DAY OUT, THERE IS KNOW DOUGHT
IT WILL ALWAYS BE THERE
EATING AWAY AT ME
FROM THE INSIDE OUT
COMPOUNDING ALL MY NEGATIVE THOUGHTS

GRASPING FOR A RAY OF HOPE
SEEN ONLY IN A LOVED ONES EYES
GIVE ME THE STRENGHT TO GO ON
I DON'T WANT TO DIE

Hello, I found this today and thought, oh, how true this is...   Grin

What I Have Learned

I've learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them.
I've learned that no matter how much I care, some people just don't care back.
I've learned that it takes years to build up trust, and only seconds to destroy it.
I've learned that it's not what you have in your life,
but who you have in your life that counts.
I've learned that you can get by on charm for about 15 minutes. After that, you'd better know something.
I've learned that you shouldn't compare yourself to the best others can do, but to the best you can do.
I've learned that it's not what happens to people that's important. It's what they do about it.
I've learned that no matter how thin you slice it, there are always two sides.
I've learned that it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.
I've learned that it's a lot easier to react than it is to think.
I've learned that you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.
I've learned that you can keep going long after you think you can't.
I've learned that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.
I've learned that either you control your attitude or it controls you.
I've learned that heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.
I've learned that learning to forgive takes practice.
I've learned that there are people who love you dearly, but just don't know how to show it.
I've learned that money is a lousy way of keeping score.
I've learned that my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time.
I've learned that sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down will be the ones to help you get back up.
I've learned that I'm getting more and more like my grandma, and I'm kinda happy about it.
I've learned that sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.
I've learned that true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.
I've learned that just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.
I've learned that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.
I've learned that you should never tell a child her dreams are unlikely or outlandish. Few things are more humiliating, and what a tragedy it would be if she believed it.
I've learned that your family won't always be there for you. It may seem funny, but people you aren't related to can take care of you and love you and teach you to trust people again. Families aren't biological.
I've learned that no matter how good a friend someone is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.
I've learned that it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.
I've learned that no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief.
I've learned that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.
I've learned that sometimes when my friends fight, I'm forced to choose sides even when I don't want to.
I've learned that just because two people argue, it doesn't mean they don't love each other. And just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do.
I've learned that sometimes you have to put the individual ahead of their actions.
I've learned that we don't have to change friends if we understand that friends change.
I've learned that if you don't want to forget something, stick it in your underwear drawer.
I've learned that you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life forever.
I've learned that the clothes I like best are the ones with the most holes in them.
I've learned that two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different.
I've learned that no matter how you try to protect your children, they will eventually get hurt and you will hurt in the process.
I've learned that there are many ways of falling and staying in love.
I've learned that no matter the consequences, those who are honest with themselves, get farther in life.
I've learned that many things can be powered by the mind, the trick is self-control.
I've learned that no matter how many friends you have, if you are their pillar, you will feel lonely and lost at the times you need them most.
I've learned that your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't even know you.
I've learned that even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you, you will find the strength to help.
I've learned that writing, as well as talking, can ease emotional pains.
I've learned that the paradigm we live in is not all that is offered to us.
I've learned that credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.
I've learned that the people you care most about in life are taken from you too soon.
I've learned that although the word "love" can have
many different meaning, it loses value when overly used.
I've learned that it's hard to determine where to draw the line between being nice and not hurting people's feelings and standing up for what you believe.

Dear Winona -
It sounds from your recent writing and quotes that you have done a lot of self assessing and come out ready to share and release some of the pain. It's such a hard thing to put yourself out there like you have done wondering how your truth will be received. Just the same you have been brave enough to face your demons and stride forward. So proud to call you a friend and hope you are as proud of yourself as you should be, as you deserve to be.

I hope that things continue to lift, especially emotionally for you, Oh how difficult we can easily make ourselves.

Be well and hepper, as well as non hepper hugs for you,

Susie

Chapter One

MY DRAGON

I SAY MY DRAGON BECAUSE HE IS MY OWN
HE LIVES HERE IN MY BODY AND MY HOME

I DID NOT INVITE HIM I DO NOT WANT HIM TO STAY
HE DID NOT TELL ME HE WAS GOING TO GET IN THE WAY

BUT FROM THE BEGINING I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG
MY MIND AND MY BODY COULD NOT SING THOSE OLD SONGS

THINGS STARTED CHANGING SLOWLY AT FIRST
I WANTED SOME ANSWERS THIS BECAME A THRIST

A LIFE CHANGE HAD TO BE MADE SO THIS I DID
THINKING I STILL HAD TIME TWENTYNINE IM A KID

THINGS NEVER LOOKED UP ONLY GOT WORSE
WENT TO SOME DOCTORS THEY WERE PERVERSE

TOLD I WAS CRAZY NEEDED TO SEE ONE OF THEIR FRIENDS
TO THIS I THOUGHT THERE WOULD BE REALLY NO END

ONE DAY A NEW EAR LISTENED AND RAN SOME TEST
CAME BACK HIGH SCORES HE SENT ME TO THE SPECIALIST

FROM THERE MY MIND WAS PUT SOME AT EASE
THERE IS SOMETHING HAPPENING TO MY BODY DISEASE

A VIRUS HEPC THE SLEEPING DRAGON NOT TO ME
HES IN THERE REEKING HAVOC ONLY I COULD SEE

Chapter Two

SVR

MADE IT THOUGH THERAPY IN HOPES OF A NEW CHANCE
ONLY TO FIND I HAD BEEN GIVEN JUST A SMALL GLANCE

MY DRAGON IS STILL WITH ME ALLTHOUGH HE IS ASLEEP
HE HAS RIDDLED MY BODY AND THE SCARS DO RUN DEEP

FEELINGS OF PAIN ARE NEVER FAR AWAY
IT SEEMS THEY HAVE COME HERE TO STAY

ONLY REMISSON FOR NOW NO CURE IN SITE
IT HAS REALY LEFT MY BODY IN A PLIGHT

NOT SURE WHERE TO TURN MY MIND WONDERS
WILL THE REST OF MY LIFE BE A TOTAL BLUNDER...

Chapter Three

RELAPES

MY DRAGON HAS REARED HIS UNGLY HEAD
AFTER ALL THE TREATMENT CARE AND DREAD

HE IS AWAKE AGAIN STRONG READY TO FIGHT
BUT MY MIND AND BODY ARE NOT QUITE RIGHT

YOU SEE I HAVE BEEN THERE TWICE BEFORE
AND I'M NOT SURE I CAN TAKE MUCH MORE

I NEED TO GET MY MIND REAL STRONG
FOR IT IS MY SHEILD I CARRY ALONG

INTO BATTLE I MUST GO
WHAT WILL HAPPEN
NO ONE KNOWS

NOW WHAT TO DO...

I HAVEN'T A CLUE???

THIS IS NOT TRUE!!!

ONLY A STATE OF MIND
DRAGGING ME DOWN
IN ENDLESS DARKNESS
COLD EMPTY ALONE
UNABLE TO THINK CLEARLY
THOUGHTS RACING
RAGE FEAR HELPLESSNESS
SORROW

THE BODY WEAKENS
THE PAIN GROWS
TIME PASSES
THE MIND WONDERS
LIGHT AGAIN
HOPE

That was so deep, Monna, so passion filled. I know you're feeling every word, I can read your soul in it. Are you alright? I mean, can I help in any way? I would like to be there if you need a friend to lean on. If I'm reading your poetry right, you've reached a SVR, only to have the beast return, am I correct? If so, jump in for assistance from us, we want to be here when you need someone who understands. Because we do. I know I do, so I want to help if I can. You never have to think you're alone with this, you always have us, we're your extended family, and each of us knows first hand the kind of suffering you feel. You can always email me if you find it hard to open up to the whole group, I welcome friends emailing me when they need a friend to talk to... not a problem at all. In fact, I have friends from here and other places with Hep C that email me all the time, and sometimes it takes me a little while, but I usually answer in the same day.

Beautiful and hard life in your writing. It made me think of a little bird, wounded and struggling to survive, full of fear and uncertainty, and then hope flickering just a bit, just enough to bring her to the safety of her nest. Don't fear, have hope. We will never leave you.

God bless, Monna. Have faith.
