Hello Shahid, good to have you here. Is your full and accurate name Shahid Ashfaq? It looks like the man who wrote the offer for the booklet didn't put his complete zip code down, so I will try to make contact with him and have him correct it. Then, since you cannot afford to purchase this booklet, I will take care of that and send him the $5.00 to cover the cost for you. I'm sure the postage will be higher too, since it will go overseas.

Once I have his accurate and complete mailing address I will order the book, and put your name and address on the letter for him to know where to send it. It may take longer to get to you because of all the hightened security in our countries, but you will have it.

One thing I want to get from you is the EXACT name and address as you would have it appear on the envelope, including every detail of having it mailed accurately. I don't want to send it and have it get lost in the mail because I left out a number or something was wrong in how it was addressed, and since I am not familiar with international addressing, please make it clear in the precise address you will have it sent to (your address).

I am sorry to have to tell you this, but this person seems to be either not in the city he mentions, or this might be a scam. I called directory assistance to find his phone number and he is not listed, and not even unlisted... he is not anywhere in the vicinity of the address he gave. I then did a people search online, and he doesn't come up there either. I did a few, using different people search engines, and he is not in existence. Not even in the entire state of Virginia.

Sometimes you get people who are trying to steal money from others, and it is not as uncommon as one would expect. I'm not saying this is the case with this man, but all signs point to that possibility. He cannot be reached no matter what avenue I attempt. Looking at his post, he didn't register here, but logged on as a guest, and when you are in a "Guest" status, we cannot trace back from where his post originated, so we have no contact information, other than the post office box and address he listed in his offer.

It sounds much too speculative to be a true and valid offer. If it were, I would have been able to make contact with him in one of the ways I tried. By all appearances, this is a scam, and I would not try to send him any funds, because of the risk of losing the money, and receiving nothing in return. If it is a true and honest person, he will write and clarify the contact information, and we can take it from there. I would prefer to have a physical address to send it to, rather than a post office box, so it can be tracked if this is an unlawful offer, set up to bilk funds from unsuspecting and desperate buyers, such as one would find here. But it seems he has made attempts to cover his tracks in order to avoid prosecution. This sort of trickery is a felony, and he obviously knows it. He may have assumed an identity of a victim of identity theft in another state, moved to Virginia and established a post office box in order to con people into sending him funds... that's exactly what I suspect. Beware of trickery.

Thanks IFTOC. Do you know this person? Where did you get his email address? Sorry for being so suspicious, but until I can verify this I take a stand of defense, and try to be straight forward in getting to the bottom of this, even if he ends up being irritated by my words here... I want to protect this newcomer, as well as anyone who may want to purchase the offered booklet, in case it really is a scam. Which I still don't know. Anything concrete you could add would be much appreciated by me and probably a few others.

Nope dont know this guy, just did a little searching and there he was selling books somewhere else. There was his e mail address.

You have a right to be suspicious he doesnt seem to have any satisfied customers or repeat posts anywhere he has posted his ad.

Drop him an e mail and see if it works or if he responds.

Would be a good scam, not many would make a big stink over 5.00.

I'll keep my guard up. He's still on the suspect list unless he can prove legit.

$5 from many people in bad health adds up, and thats a low and evil scheme if it is a scam. If so I can only pray that justice is served and he's locked up. I wrote him and haven't received a reply yet, but it's early. Patience and all that.

There are people out there who live off the gullability of others... these are the weasels of society. We have to constantly be on guard of these scams to protect ourselves from becoming victims... even $5 is a felony in this case, because the law looks at the potential of multiple victims.

Thou shalt not steal is not only a commandment, it is law. And this form of trickery is the lowest form of cowardice anyone can reach. This person may very well be praying on the people who need help the most, and who are in a fight for their very lives. Us. Protect yourselves. Report crime at all levels. Particularly degenerate crime... from sick minds.
