That's exactly right Jackie. My girlfriend who went through chemo for breast cancer was put on the neupogen. Some people, do get side effects from this one, (mostly muscle pain). However, I have heard that there are no sides from the Procrit. Unfortunately some people find themselves waiting for approval from the insurance companies to get this drug, which is utterly ridiculous since they don't think twice about giving it to cancer patients.
On another topic, this question is for everyone. Lately, about a week or so I've been having very strange dreams. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind, they're interesting, and it's like going to the movies for free. But  wow, they're pretty weird...I won't get specific here because they're a little embarrassing, (although entertaining) Wink. Has anyone experienced this ? Marina

Ok Marina,

Thanks alot! I woke this morning and you were the first thing that came to mind.

I dreamt I was riding a bike all around my work. I woke up so tired and I swear my legs ache!

May your dreams not be as exhausting! Grin

Jackie, my dreams were more of a sexual nature. Riding bike sounds like fun, but not as much fun as I had in my dreams.  Smiley

Yes, indeed, the dreams! I have had them nightly, and they range from walking in a department store naked, trying to hide behind things so I won't get caught, to some really bizarre stuff that is full of strange and negative characters. Many sexual and erotic dreams as well, waking in the morning to my pup tent surprise. The Mystery of Morning Wood.

I did want to acknowledge what you were saying though, Marina. My dreams have been a little too graphic and very exciting. In Technicolor. Almost like being there. Very 3 dimensional. Must be the med's.

As you know I had low wbc. Doc office said cut to pegasys injection to .75 this past saturday til Doc comes back. Well she is back. She said she does not and will not prescribe neupogen or procrit. They said the bloodwork I did Friday(before the cutback) had gone from 2.1 to 2.5. so it is rising. I pumped myself w/fish,bananas and anything else I could find on the list of foods to eat for wbc increase. SO it musta worked. They want me to have another on Wednesday so I will know if I can go back to regular dose or not for Saturday. Look out Produce section!

Jackie, did she give you a reason for not giving Procrit or Neupogen ?
Also, could you post a list of those foods that are good for white blood cells. I'm sure some of us will benefit from it.   Smiley

I thought I did post them Marina, But Lord only knows where! I will do again under a topic of their own when I get home.

Doc said she does not prescibe them unless there is no other alturnative. She has never prescribe in a hep C case because of the sides. She said my chances of "clearing" are just as good with reducing the dose until it is under control. They were just gonna reduce again this week and I said I wanted tested again so I can have a chance to see if they are back up as not to HAVE to go 2 weeks at reduce.

They said to have done Wednesday

Later gotta go home. Hubby not feeling good Lips Sealed. No really, he got bit by bugs the other night. Now he feels flu like. HE better not get West Nile! Gotta go and take care of..........

That's all you need, West Nile. Well just about 20miles from my house they were spraying the other day cause they found a dead bird (west Nile). This area is closer to the Florida Everglades.
I can understand lowering the dosage, it makes sense, but did she have other alternatives for you if she won't give you either drug ?
Look at me, I'm only doing 600 Mg. ( thinking of sneaking just one more little pill in)
Hope hubby is well.

Not even a multivitamin without iron ?
Well, then the only thing you'll be able to do is eat like a health fanatic. It'll be good for you one way or another.
