Just a quick reminder that flu season is around the corner and with so many being immunosuppressed, it's getting time to make an appointment for your flu shot and pneumonia shot if you haven't had one. Don't wait until they run short of vaccines before getting your's. Keep your spirits high...robin

Heppers,

I was curious about getting a flu shot this year with my WBC count being so low.  When I asked the doctor, I watched his mind go back and forth and then say a dubious yes.  Has anyone had experience with a low WBC and gotten a flu shot?  Mine has been in the 1.5+  to 2.3 range along with a low SEG.  I started researching more on low blood counts and have not found any info in reference to flu shots.

Nancy...I took a flu shot when my whites were less than 2.0. My doctor didn't look at the white count so much as the Absolute Neutrophil Count. If your doctor says get the flu shot...I'd do so. Keep your spirits high...robin
