Now and then I come across old posts of mine and am curious. I have absolutely dropped the ball on keeping a journal of this saga and wonder if I can somehow collect the posts as a timeline for myself and to use as material for a new story/book I am writing. I can always go through everything and gather but I already know my brain will either collapse or explode before long. Can I make a request somehow from the board program?

Good question.  You can "search" your old posts.  You can also do this for other members as well.

Here's how;

In this case since you wish to see your old posts.....go to any post you've made and find your username.  This is always on the left hand side of all your posts (and just above it lists how many posts you've made).  If you move your cursor to it you'll find you can also click on it.  This brings you to your profile page.  At the bottom of this page you can either send people a PM, but also you can revisit the old posts of this person.  (In this case yourself)

As you pull up the old posts you can also click on the link to the thread you posted in and see the entire thread with all posts.  I use this often as a "search" technique.  I may know I posted in a thread but don't want to search through my posts.  If I can remember another member who participated in the thread I can often search through their posts and find the elusive thread.  The search engine of the board is good but sometimes can't find what I want.

I hope this is what you were looking for.  Other ways to visit other peoples profiles is to search them out in the alphabetical members list at the bottom of the forum, go to threads they appeared in and click on their membername, or when they are online simply click on their name at the bottom of the page.  Moderators are often listed under forums and so that is yet one more quick way to reach them.

This whole forum is a diary in a sense and in some ways a community diary.  I hope this helps.  I love browsing some of the old threads.

best,
Willy

Willy: I did as you told me and had instant results. Thank you.
Interesting stuff! It was a lot like hearing a song on the radio - you hear it and whoosh - poor man's time travel. Reading each post took me right back to the time and space when I wrote it so I can flesh out the character, situation, jigsaw it with additions, etc. I've been carrying my notebook again to jot down a line or a few pages as they come to me. I can see where these thought fit in. I also have my old notebook for the book I am about to send out which helps describe the me from diagnosis day 1. I was thinking earlier that perhaps I could offer to pull a few hours at my old job, but I'm still not going to put the burden of being unreliable on my boss/friend again. Which led me to notice its time to get back to at least 1/2 business with my writing.
Again, thank you,
momxfive

P.S. My biggest surprise was how long it took for me to come here. October! I was diagnosed a year ago, 8 mos. trying to fly solo. If I've learned one thing from this roller coaster ride, its that I will never do THAT again!

Hey Mom....I'm glad you asked and I'm glad i was able to help.  Progress.  This board has a lot of kool things that it can do.....I still am learning.

I guess that I am "lucky".  I've attended a 12 step group since 2000.  When I got DX'ed i went right to the net.  Before Al-Anon I had no clue how to even turn on a computer.  From being in a program a few years prior to DX I was able to access this site and do some posting.  I found this board just a few days after being DX'ed.  I got welcomed in just as we still try to do so for new members.  It was really a life saver for me.

I've been here about 3 and a half years and it still helps me in new ways.  I'm glad you found the board.  You are a good, expressive writer and it's great to have you here.

I have some questions, Frirst am I in the right place to start a new thread? . I need that Dummy book I guess. I want to tell the group about a healing type process we, my wife and I do and teach. So to do that , are you interested in a newbe doing any thing like that. The guestion has come up about remote healing, which we do all the time. We do use a dowsing tool for this work, not necessary but it seems to send it a little better.  Hope I'm not stepping on any body's toes here as I'm still lost most of the time while tring to fime things here. What has this got to do with Hep C, for me a lot. jody13

Joe, it's fine to post the thread in the Alternative Treatment Forum.  It's the same forum that you'll now see the thread about Reiki.  There are all sorts of things that we may do that may help with our HCV.  It's possible also, just like TX, some of these may work for some people and not for others.

The only other stipulation is that this board is set up for helping people somewhat patterned after 12 step groups.  That means it has to be given, shared, and not sold.

If you have further questions you can also PM me or if it is a process that is shared for free you are certainly welcome to just start a thread.

Linda, to answer your question , what do we do. I believe we are all God's disiples and Jesus told us we could do any thing I can do ,only better than me. Or words to that effect. The first time that ever came up was in Kansas. We were drilling an oil well . the guy that was the operator hurt himself using a pipe wrench. It seems he had been shot in 'Nam" in the shourlder. My friend sent him to me to heal it for him. He backed up like a big dog and said "Heal it Then"  I told myself if ever I needed "Gods " help , now was it. I had seen people on tv rub there hands together, so thats what I did and I worked on him about 15 or 20 seconds. He moved his arm up and down in no pain, turned around and told me to stay away from him as I was plumb weird. But it did the job. Since then we have hepled a lot of people. Hands on healing, you don't touch the person, just send energy. I had a elderly lady from Isreal send me an email one morning. I get up about Six any way and there it was a message telling me she had fallen down and blackened both eyes, tripped on a garden hose in the garden. she was worried that  she had a concussion. She keep bumping into things. So I checked out with my pendulum and found out she was going to be OK. I sent her an email saying " Just sent Healing". She was sitting at the table wondering why I hadn't answered her when she realized it was just now daylight over here. Her left eye was swelled shut and couldn't even open it plus 6 stitches on the eye brow.  Her eye popped open she said, and she she went over to the computer and there was the post "Just sent Healing".She said it took 17 minutes to get from here to there.  Does it work , I think it does. If the person believes it will help it helps a lot. I just sent healing to my son whose knee went out. Time will tell. I do a lot of my remote work through Arch Angel Rafeal, I ask him to take care of it. Intent in this work takes up a lot of slack. Any body can do hands on healing if they believe they can. You don't have to learn a bunch of mantras or speacil prayers, just do it.  jody13
