POLL: Where are you from?

This is kind of a test and it may be imperfect.  There are some people who would like to know others in their locality.  This thread will help people "find" each other.   There is no requirement that you take this poll.  You may choose to add a post to this poll if you'd like.  In that post you can do post information about your state or city if you'd like to but once again; it's optional.  If people wish to contact one another by board PM's with other more refined location information that can be done as opposed to posting it on the web in their replies.  In an effort to keep this information more private I can also move this thread to a board where only logged on members can see it.  Let me or other moderators know what you want.

I'll apologise if the list of options was not inclusive enough.  I started with the USA.  I think I got all 50 states.     Since we have many members from Canada I also thought that I'd list their "states" (the provinces). After that I went to other English speaking countries and then I got more general.  I left a few  blanks for some omissions that I assume I've made.  Let me know how I've messed up and I'll attempt to correct the worst errors.

LOL.......For a second it looked as IF all heppers hailed from states that start with "I".  But now I know that it's that we all live in the midwest.  

Jazz; there are a few techniques that we can do to provide anonymity.  The first and safest is what you are doing; not listing your city.  The second is to post information and then modify it out after a period.  Another technique is that we could end up moving this thread to a forum like the political forum where the information is not available except to people who are logged on members.  I'm not so sure that this would keep the information from being available to all, but it would for a large amount of people.

This thread was patterned for a thread at the Hepatitis Neighborhood that recently dissippeared.  The one over there must have been about 14 pages long and was very popular.  I like using the "poll" apect here though so you can see how many are from your state.  At the hood you had to look through all the pages and posts.   Ours is better; all 4 posts so far.

Guess I read the question wrong - thought it was like a census or something. I grew up in NJ, lived in NYC for awhile then on to AZ, St. John in the USVI and now Cape Cod MA. (I am definately not trying to hide anything, but if anyone asks I will deny it all.)
I like knowing where people are from because its interesting and helps fill in the blanks some, plus gardening tips for the desert in AZ definately would be wrong for someone in the rain forest of Oregon or tundra of Alaska.

I live in the beautiful "mitten state" of Michigan!  Lived a long, long time in Tennessee (20 years) and have a bunch of wonderful friends there, but I'm very happy to be back HOME!  Call me crazy but I love the weather...love WINTER but tire of it about March and...low and behold comes SPRING.  Then SUMMER which I also love but also get sick of it about August and then comes FALL and WINTER.  Yes, the four seasons are fantastic.

Doug, the capacity for making polls is built into this board.  It's really no more harder than making a post.  I only had to keep opening option boxes for each state.  The major work was cutting and pasting the states in alphabetically (and not forgetting one or two).  At best it took a half hour.

There are a zillion things these polls can be used for; some of them could actually have some scientific (although somewhat anecdotal) significance.

Various potential topics for polls;
Did you TX with Pegasys or Pegintron?
Rate your sides with Pegasys on a scale of 1-10 (one could also do this for Pegintron or other forms of TX)
What was your worst side effect?
Rank your side effects during TX
Rank your continuing side effects following TX
What alternatives do you use?
What vitamin supplements do you use?
Do you smoke?  How much?
What is your liver damage grade?  (one could also provide information for conversion of data)
What is your genotype?
How do you think you were infected?

Many of these could simply be a poll.  The area for providing information below in a post need not be used or could be optional.  For instance, what if you designed a poll that asked; Quantify your use of marijuana, people could post their use yet remain anonymous with the membership.  I don't believe there is a way for any mod or admin to see how each individual "votes" I'm sure there could be a way since the polling aspect also allows for the option of 1 vote only or multiple votes.

Anyway.....if there are other questions about polls we can start a new thread on it to discuss it.  I'm glad that people are interested in this.  I liked the one they had over at the 'Hood and hope that this one will be as successful.
