Hiya kids,

We have a brand new chat room with a brand new look and a lot more bells and whistles!

This is a Java based chat room so make sure you have the correct Java program downloaded so that you can access the room.  You can read up on Java at www.java.com.

If you have problems with our chat room after you have download Java, we have a help center for the chat at

www.help.addonchat.com.

Remember, you will nee your hcvanonymous user ID and password to log in to chat.

Ya'll may want to pop in and mess around with all the bells and whistles even if no one is in there.  I think you're going to enjoy our new look!

This will be the maiden voyage tonight and even if you were able to get on other times it might be worth trying sometime today to make sure you can get on.

The link in the top right hand corner is now active and a good way to get on.

Let us know if you have problems logging on.

best,
Willy

Well,

This afternoon we did discover a minor glich in the chat room.  Apparently there is a very small Java issue with our chat program.  If you have Java version 1.6 or higher, you will not be able to see the different color fonts that the users select.   The makers of the chat program are working with Sun Java to rectify this problem.

If seeing the different colored type that the users are using is of importanct to you, the recommendation of the addonchat.com is to use/download/install Java version 1.5.

Chat room is great! Gives me something to look forward to two nights a week.  Wish I hadn't left tonight.  Would have stayed if I would have known I'd get a cold moody shoulder.  Ya'll are the only ones that understand! REALLY! See ya'll Sunday. Whole Bunches of Bear Hugs and Smiles. Kristi

Actually it's the link, it (my cursor) wouldn't even offer me the hand with the finger pointing at the link like it does with all the other links. Instead the little arrow cursor stays the same. The link on the top of the home page just didn't work, period. Then on the message page at the top it has another thing that says Try Our Chat, Heppers House, so I clicked it... nothing. I give up.

I'm also having some problems lately with my email. Two people so far have said that they haven't been receiving anything from me in a while, even though I've written them. Halloween mysteries. Spooky. Or some punk hacker asshole messing with my computer. If I ever run into anyone who does that kind of thing, I think I'll take out 56 years of frustration on his ass. I'll go to prison, but I can't think of anything more worth it.

Joris,

You should be able to get in by clicking on the words "heppers house".  The link is definately working.  I tried to find a back door way in for you but there just isn't one.  Y ou have to access it through the site for security reasons.   The fact that you are having problems with other links and emails tells me it might be a computer issue.

Have you always had this problem?  How old is your puter?  I'll see if Bill can help you out a bit.

No, haven't had problems with it. It's a Sony Vaio laptop and I paid like $1500 for it in the summer of 2006, so it's just over a year old. It's a nice computer, it just takes a lot to get used to the keyboard because the keys are closer than a regular desktop, and I tend to fly when I type sometimes, and I hit a bunch of other keys so it makes it where I have to constantly go back and make corrections.

I did hit the link "Heppers House", and nothing happened. I tried several times on every possible link I could find (well, there are only two, I think). It's not a big deal. I'm not able to keep up in chat rooms anyway, I take too long (chonically long-winded).

Joris, ya just need to learn to abreviate a little. I type part of what I am saying then hit enter and then I continue.
I had to take the kids out to trick and treat last night so left the room early.
Be nice to see ya there sometime.

Hey DesertRose,

Seems we can get more people in there during the schedule chats.  But if you want to meet someone in chat sometime try sending them a PM and see if you can work out time to meet them there.    Who knows, maybe someday soon we can get people to comit to be in there every day.   Grin
