I hear from her purt near every day.  She's blowin' and goin' and waitin'.  Let's see, she's planning on putting on a big children's Christmas party and is already buying stuff for it.  If she gets her transplant around then, she's already lined up substitutes and covered all bases.  I'm totally agog Shocked at that lady.

Yep, Em's right!  I spoke w/her yesterday and she's doing very well.  Over the phone, she sounds phenomenal, yet I can hear the anxiety when it comes to the waiting game.  She's into the holidays and has started to shop online.  She is one very amazing lady and I am on the call list should she receive her shiny new liver, so everyone will know immediately. (I still wish she had a place other than a hotel to go to once she's released from the hospital. Can't be near animals for awhile  Sad )

I apologize for not making it down to this forum...

The Robin is here...still waiting. Hubby runs to check caller ID every time the phone rings but I really don't think about it that much. I've been so busy, I've neglected my friends here and I'm sorry. I've been wearing out my credit card and computer buying for the 6 grands, then their parents and a couple of special people, including my doctor, neighbor and so forth. Then I'm helping plan the Childrens Christmas Party where we live. My responsibility is 8 gallons of hot chocolate and gift bags for all the kids (I think around 50). I need a more definite number so I can finish my shopping and put each bag together in a big box to be delivered to the log house where the kids ride the sleigh from the golf course down to Santa's house, complete with snacks, Santa, a fireplace and decorated Christmas tree. My grands have always loved going so I figured I can make the gift bags and stuffed toys early and they will be ready to go and I'll get everything to make the Hot Chocolate and leave the recipe and if Tom can't figure out how to make the homemade kind...will get some cans of Swiss Miss so he can go the easy way if I'm not available. I'm only committing to things I can do when I'm up to it. We have decided to blow off Thanksgiving but are having all the kids and grands down Dec. 15 for Christmas at our house. That way the kids get to have new presents early and it doesn't conflict with the inlaws plans because for some reason... both my son and daughter have inlaws that expect them to be at their house for all the holidays. Oh well...all is well and my spirits are high so keep your spirits high, too...robin

P.S. I dropped from Oklahoma's TP listing today. Not willing to move there for 6-9 months which they require. I'm only required to stay in Little Rock after discharge until they get my anti-rejection meds straightened out.

Robin,

I'm just soooooo thrilled to see you posting.  We all miss you when you're not around.  I still got my fingers crossed that you get your new liver soon.  I think it's gonna be real soon 'cause my fingers are cramping and can't stay this way much longer.   Grin.

So glad to hear you are enjoying your family.

Love ya,

Don't know who said it but I try to look at each day as a choice...I have the choice whether I have a good day or a bad day. If I am having a bad day then I have the choice to make changes to make it better...maybe not great but better. I choose to have my days filled with sunshine and my nights filled with the moon and stars. I tell my grands that if they ever get lonely at night to look at the moon and that is where I send all my hugs and kisses for them and the man in the moon sprinkles hugs and kisses as stars in the night sky. Sappy, yep but it makes for a good night...keep your spirits high...robin

(((Robin)))

I love reading how intuned you are to getting your Christmas going beforehand.  It's sounds so much more peaceful than that mad-dashery that happens near the end of the Holiday because we have procrastinated.  I also like and agree with you on your philosophy of greeting each new day.  You sound really good and that's what we like to hear. Grin

Many Prayers For You, Always..... Cool

Oh...I am still pea green with jealousy that I couldn't come to Florida but there is a time and a place for everything...I heard that in a Simon and Garfunkle song (though I know it came from the Bible. Go back to the doctor Tuesday and am going to hit them up for starting treatment again. I feel it has been several weeks since they called and said I had made it to the top of the list for my blood type and not to travel any more but now I'm thinking that I've dropped my place so as it stands right now...don't want a liver until after Dec. 15th when we have Christmas as my house. Besides...I committed to bring gift bags and stuffed toys for Santa to pass out along with 8 gallons of hot chocolate and I seriously doubt if Tom could make hot chocolate...he would be buying cans and adding water, I'm afraid. I think this waiting game is getting to me. OK...no hate responses here, but I've always considered myself to be agnostic but it seems that my now 7 year old grand, Rhiannon, has hit me with all the questions about church and since I don't want to form her opinions...I've become her designated church taker when I'm in Little Rock or she comes to our house. I was raised hell, fire and damnation Baptist then in adulthood, spent a bit of time in what is now called a cult (but it was much smaller and I wasn't deep enough into it to "see" the inner workings)...so I became a Unitarian. The Unitarian church here isn't very open to children so I've been taking her to the Methodist church. Every time I take her, I fall in love with the bright eyes and excited grins she gives me. Last sunday (though I'm not supposed to drive) I "borrowed" one of our cars and took her to town to a bigger Methodist church...dropped her at Sunday School and sat in the car and read the paper and then I actually went with her to regular (not contemporary) services. When they asked the children to come to the front of the church for Children's services...she got up on her own in a place she had never been and went down. I then found myself breaking out my checkbook and writing a check for her to deposit in the offering plate. I find myself at odds over this as I feel it is her parents responsibility to give her the information she asks for but she isn't asking them...she's asking me. I'm like...that isn't fair but then I realize that life isn't fair and I have to follow whatever plan the Universe holds for me. OK...I'm off subject but the only other thing new in my life is my credit card company called last night because I've had so many charges on my account (buying up for early Christmas...or in case I get TP'd) and that amused me. Then I checked my online balance and saw why the fraud department called me...I spent more in the first two weeks of Nov. and last month than I did when I took my oldest grand to Europe a few years back...and they called then too. This is dragging on so I'll close and say thanks for checking and I'm sure things will work out as planned. If any of you that know me get an e-mail from my daughter...I gave her access to my e-mail so she can send out a notice when I get the TP call...keep your spirits high...robin

Hi Robin -
It's easy to see why your Rhiannon has come to her grandma for the big questions - she trusts you in a different way than her parents - you are the one to make gift bags and hot chocolate from scratch, that always keeps her spirits high and I'm sure those of hers around her, that responds to her questions without prejudice or interference. Grandmas's are special, sometimes in spite of their flaws, because they see us, yeah I've got five, in a special light. If you ask me it's a whole lot better than bucking horns with her parents about the quadmire of religous beliefs. We are their safe refuge and it's as it shold be, again in my opinion.

I just got back from Boston for yet another MRI, this time checking on cancer markers, and my ammonia levels. Do I jump the gun and get a feasable living situation now or wait. Started taking the mycelex anti-viral, for how long. I've been told it could be five or more years down the road. How much do I coordinate in advance - sheesh. The old hurry up and wait game has taken on a whole new meaning. I don't think you lost your spot because you wouldn't go so far away from your home and family. It's important to you to be where you are on every level including follow up.

From everything you've ever posted, this is a bad day or week or whatever which you never seem to let run wild for very long. Give it's due then fly high again little bird.

As always, be well and enjoy your Thanksgiving,
Susie
