Try always having small amounts in you stomach.  Don't eat three squares; try 6 or 7 small snack/ meals to get you through the day.  This has worked for others....and I hope that it may for you.  I can't remember if the surviors guide has anything about this....... but you might also check that too.

Hang in there.....

Best,
willy

Nausea:
Move slowly, do not attempt to read in moving vehicles, you will become green.  Eat small nutritious meals.  Drink plenty of fluids to aid digestion.  Eat foods that will help settle your stomach: crackers, oatmeal, broths, ginger ale (its also good with cranberry juice), peppermints, candied ginger, herb teas, yogurt with granola. Wendela says that Solaray GingerTrips are good for nausea, they are chewable, tasty and they work instantly!  You can get them at any health food store, a bottle of 60 is about $6.
Use pressure points travel sickness wrist bands (Sea-bands).  They really work.

Some people swear by acupuncture to relieve their nausea.  If it gets really bad, ask your doctor for something, you don't want to lose too much weight at once, its not good for you.  If you are truly desperate, SharRN said to ask your doctor about Compazine suppositories, so if you are really tired of taking pills, this may be the way to go.  see Weight Loss or Nutrition

If you are experiencing dizziness, see Dizziness.

Hi Snowflake,

I haven't heard of eating making anyone's whole body hurt before. It would seem to me that the doctors would be taking these symptoms ( and the fact that you are concerned about your recent weight loss) more seriously, especially in light of the fact that you are about to undergo another round of tx.

Ok, a long shot here and not knowing how long you've been dealing with this symptoms, but could it possibly a bad case of a "stomach flu"? Sure sounds alot like what some folks in these parts have been dealing with...the muscle aches, chills, feeling sick to your stomach. Just crossed my mind so I thought I'd put it out there. Definitely don't have an "M.D." after my name.  Wink

Do keep us posted on how things go for you and hope you find some answers soon!!!

 Smiley Huh ???HEY SNOWFLAKE!!

I AM PRETTY NEW ON THIS BOARD TOO. I HAD BEEN TOLD THAT I WAS GONNA START ON THE PEGUSYS IN DECEMBER ALSO, AND WHEN I WENT TO THE DR WE DECIDED THAT SINCE IT HAD BEEN 5 YEARS SINCE I HAD A BIOPSY I OUGHT TO GET ONE, I WENT WEDNESDAY AND GOT IT AND HOPEFULLY WILL KNOW SOMETHING NEXT WEEK. MY VIRAL LOADS WERE REALLY HIGH AND I HAD BEEN THINKING ABOUT TRING THE PEGUSYS, I WAS ON THE OLDER INTERFURON BACK ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BUT AFTER ABOUT 8 WEEKS I ENDED UP IN THE HOSPITAL. SO THE DR I HAD AT THE TIME SAID "WELL I GUESS WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING ELSE" WELL I HAVE SINCE CHANGED DOCTORS AND DIDN'T START THINKING ABOUT TREATMENTS UP UNTILL JUST RECENTLY.

IT IS NOT REALLY SOMETHING THAT I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO BUT AT LEAST I WILL BE ABLE TO SAY I TRYED SOMETHING TO HELP MYSELF. BUT IT IS ALL GONNA DEPEND ON THE BIOPSY RESULTS.

I HOPE THAT YOUR TX GOES GOOD, I AM ALWAYS HERE IF YOU NEED TO TALK.

HEY SNOWFLAKE,

WELL IT IS MONDAY THE 26TH AND I STILL DON'T KNOW ANYTHING. I AM GETTING REALLY FRUSTRATED, NOT THAT I REALLY WANT TO START TX, BUT I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAS CHANGED. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH SO MANY OTHER ISSUES THAT SOMETIMES I WISH THAT I COULD JUST GIVE UP, BUT I KNOW THAT IS NOT THE ANSWER. MY DAUGHTER AND MY HUSBAND ARE WONDERFUL BUT NOBODY KNOWS WHAT THOUGHTS GO THROUGH YOUR HEAD WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO MAKE SOME MAJOR DECESSIONS IN YOUR LIFE. AND THEY ALSO DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS LIKE TO FEEL LIKE "CRAP" EVERYDAY OF YOUR LIFE MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY. I TRY TO PICK UP THAT SECOND FACE BUT IT IS GETTING HARDER AND HARDER.

I REALLY NEEDED TO "VENT" AND I FIGURED THAT YOU AND I SEEMED SO MUCH ALIKE THAT I COULD VENT WITH YOU!!!! I ALSO HAVE TALKED TO HELEN AND SHE IS REALLY GREAT ALSO. I DON'T KNOW TO MANY OTHER PEOPLE BUT ALL THAT I HAVE READ EVERYBODY SEEMS SO NICE AND CARING.

I WILL POST MY RESULTS WHEN I GET THEM, WHENEVER THAT MAY BE!!!!! I KNOW THAT THINGS COULD BE SO MUCH MORE WORSE AND I NEED TO THINK OF THAT AND JUST SUCK EVERYTHING UP AND GO ON, BUT IT SURE IS EASIER SAID THAN DONE!!!!

SEE YA,

Hi Iluvkkts, I had to jump in here, because of something you said. You said, "MY DAUGHTER AND MY HUSBAND ARE WONDERFUL BUT NOBODY KNOWS WHAT THOUGHTS GO THROUGH YOUR HEAD WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO MAKE SOME MAJOR DECESSIONS IN YOUR LIFE." One thing I was thinking about was your daughter and husband. Have they been kind of wanting to learn all about Hep C, so they can understand it all a lot better, or have they been sort of distant and not really wanting to talk about it?

I think they have to be told everything. Maybe use a little tact, but if they aren't frightened easily then make sure they understand that one of the things we (heppers) sometimes experience is rage. And maybe you need to prepare yourself for that, so you can recognize it if and when it ever happens. I've always been a very mellow, calm, laid back person. For the most part. But while on treatments I exerienced myself going into rage, at least twice. It went right to the edge on the "danger" scale. It scared the heck out of me.

When anyone see's you going into a rage response, they don't know what to make of it. I can imagine that they think we've lost it, and I can't argue that. If it scares a little kid, it's not a good thing at all. Especially if that kid is related to you. In order to really get to where you can understand the rage you have to first sit and discuss it. It's all stress and chemo related. The chemo throws your metabolism all out of whack and the next thing you know, you've reached the limit in what you can take. Boom! So be careful. It sounds like you're where I was a time or two, and that is a bit close to the edge. Meditate now and then, and find a peace you can cling to. Keep your faith alive, and know that what you're doing is a normal response to stress, but it's also manageable.

I'm praying for you to find a strong force to keep you steady.

God bless.

(((((Snowflake)))))

Oh Dear!  Limbo is the worst place to be when it comes to all of this. :-/  Just what you need, eh?  I felt compelled to reply to your post because 10/24 is when I started my TX.  I have been fortunate enough to have a Doctor who's billing girl is way ahead of the game and it took her a lot of persistency with my Insurance company because they have been fighting against paying for this TX course right from the gate.  It has been like pulling teeth they tell me.

I would talk to the doctor & his billing office again especially since your Insurance is changing.  I would bet this whole delay is due to Insurance (as expected). Roll Eyes  It is totally your business but I could never have done all this if my doctor & his office weren't right on top of things.  I've not had to deal with Insurance once (yet!)

I think I would bring your concerns up with the doctor again since you seem to have a question about them covering your "Butt."  You need to know they are going to be there for you in some manner.  That is way too much stress for you to have to endure while being on TX. Cry

Don't give up Snowflake.  The beginning always seems to be the worse...I think because our anxiety level is so high at this point.  But I would only communicate with the doctor's office and leave them to handle the Insurance. Angry

If the Doctor's billing dept. & your current Doctor are so inept and continue to be so...there are plenty of other Gastro Professionals in the book! Wink

I don't know if this helps because I would be pulling out my hair if I had to be the working force between doctor & insurance.  They'll both make you CRAZY! Shocked

Hang tight and continue to keep us posted so you can at least get some of the tension off your chest.  Remember...it never hurts to follow up when communications are bad!

Much Love Dear.......... Cool

Hey Joyce,

I'm not really having a problem with my new insurance, i just needed the new member numbers and such to give to the doctor office and the new pharmacy info., which i gave to the doctors office almost two weeks ago. I was told they would call me back that same day, i have yet to hear from them. This is what has been going on since Oct. 24th. They keep dropping the ball, never moving forward unless i call them. My last appt. with the doctor was not good. I told him of the things that concerned me with starting therapy. Like him not doing any of the things he said he would do, from having my prescription in my file to checking on a shot nurse to telling me when i wanted to start therapy.(I did this in a nice manner) I told him i needed a doctor i could work with. He got very upset and told me he needed a patient he could work with. So i had to say sorry, what BS. Then he also informed me he does not give pain meds., which i never even asked about. I have had trouble in the past with him over a sonagram he did, he told me everything was fine with my liver, gallbadder etc., i told him that was good but i didn't have a gallbadder. It took two months of me calling every week to finally get an answer. Which was, oh they miss read it, but we can do it again if you want. At that time i was getting ready to do therapy with him but that changed my mind. Now look, i'm in that boat again. I did try to get with another doctor this week, but he is not taking hep. patients anymore. So i am stuck with a non caring doctor right now. So i am not going to call them again and see if they call me. Other wise it may be no therapy for me. Right now anyway.

STUCK IN LIMBO
