I wrote this a while ago. It's probably a little melancholy for this forum, but it reflects some feelings I'm having now.

Old Friend

You’re here with us tonight, old friend
we’ve missed you ‘round the warming fires
where we gather still to keep from cold,
Our Souls

We’ll pause. . .  to think of you
as we seek Grace
to heal the wounds
that fester lies,
that tell Us lies are truth

You once said you were One
with us,
and felt the pain of lies
clothed fine enough,
to masquerade for Truth

We loved you well
as well we could,
One who showed us
where we had begun. . . to see

but then, you turned your eye away
from fire scarred tissue
that lay, deep inside
as tender painful as that moment
the Serpent struck.

still, We are here
to seek the Grace that
only can be found
beneath the scarred Soul space,
lay open to receive. . .

Max you have a gift. There is no such a thing as too much melancholy unless it is kept inside.

One of the finest songs ever recorded:

Come to me, my melancholy baby
Cuddle up and don't be blue
All your fears are foolish fancies, maybe
You know, honey, I'm in love with you

Every cloud must have a silver lining
Just wait until the sun shines through
Smile, my honey dear, while I kiss away each tear
Or else I shall be melancholy too

<instrumental-first two lines of second verse>

Smile, my honey dear, while I kiss away each tear
Or else I shall be melancholy too
