Well i started my tx on march 21, 2008.  I've been reading what you've all been posting and it has helped me prepare mentally for this process. So far so good.  I haven't got alot of the really bad side-effects.  I'm just mostly really fatigued and moody.  My skin itches alot and i don't sleep unless i take my trazadone.  I just wanted to say hi to everyone and thanks for all the great information you have put out .

Hello Beember
Like everyone else I just wanted to welcome you and encourage you to stay in touch. As with any support group , identification
is the number one requirement. I want to talk to someone who has been there. Create some new relationship so when and if you ever do get sick you'll feel more comfortable in reaching out.

Hello Beemer and congratulations and best wishes in your battle with the dragon. The itching is the ribavirin and my advice is to start treating it early as you can develop a nasty rash. Use lots of lotion to keep your skin from drying out. Best of luck to you and keep your spirits high...robin

So glad that you found us, Beember.  You have found the most wonderful site on the puter......  Pull up a chair and relax.  Make yourself at home and share all you need to share.  You will find a lot of hands to hold on your battle with the dragon.  Best of luck to you.

Hugs, Squeaker

Hey beemer!

Glad to have you. So far, not so bad, eh?  That's cool.  If you're tired, take a nap wen you can. If you're itchy, try some of the tried and trues others here have -  aveeno, gold bond, dandruff shampoo only on the skin, I'm partial to Olive Oil or Crisco when I first get out of the shower, some people have had luck with cortisone creams. A little grumpy, it happens, but you should let your doc know, they can usually offer some kind of helper med for that, plus light excersize  and god eating habits really do make a difference.

Hope to hear fro ya soon with whatever you have o report.

what is your genotype?
are you on peg-intron or pegasys?

aveeno oatmeal bath will help with itchy skin.
caffeine will make skin itch more. (my experience)
and try to drink water. half your body weight in oz. of water.

good luck.

{{{Welcome Beember}}}
It's nice to meet you!  Glad to have you aboard.  I hope soon you will tell us a little more about yourself. Smiley

There's a product out now that I missed out on during my TX.  Thanks to *momxfive* I purchase it now.  It's called Smart Water...no flavors but it has electrolytes.  I give it to my dog & kitties once in awhile, too. Wink

Love & Support..... Cool

Hello Beemer....welcome to the family!....you will find more love, compassion and caring here, along with humor and information....than you can ever imagine....

I was glad to hear your sides are minor.  My best advice to you would be, as I firmly believe, stay strong, stay positive and stay in faith.....we are all on the journey together....hope you feel our welcoming arms around you.

Holding you in thought and prayer,

Blessings to you today and every day,
