Back about 54 years ago in Roswell, New Mexico, the Country Club would put on the 4 Th. of July fireworks display. The ninth teebox sat on a piece of land out in the lake. Right after dark they drove a pick up down near there and had all the fireworks stuff in it. they would carry it out, a couple at a time and fire it off on the tee. Every body was sitting up by the club house a 1/4 mile southwest of there. These were big rockets, the mutable booms and very pretty, About half way through one of the spent rockets landed in the back of the pick up with all the fire works. It didn't take long to shoot the rest of them. They went every direction. Nobody got hurt but it was a site to see. I'll bet they didn't do that again. . I'll always remember that fourth of July. Joe
This the type of stories I like to right. it gets the cobwebs out when you have to think. Now if I could just learn to write them on this site with out losing them several times The old coot, Jody

This story was written almost 4 years ago but it is still correct even more so. There is a new book out stating these same things. jody13
What If,
That is a heck of a title. Bear with me for a while. When we had our last election the message was sent loud and clear to our president to change his ways. This old “Stay the course” routine was never going to work anyway. The Baker commission told him the same thing. Did it change anything? Even his Generals tell him we have lost the war, does he hear them. I doubt it . There has been way too much loss of life and money on a war that we can’t win. Thousands of Iraq people have died, Graft and corruption is rampant over there. Reminds me of Washington D.C.
Now comes the” what if”, not of the past because it is too late for that but the future. What if we just take our licks and pull out of Iraq to a place close by and see what happens. The Iraq people have wanted to kill reach other for years, this is not new. Iran and Saudi Arabia and the other countries would put a stop real quick for fear of causing a war in their own countries. They enjoy watching us trying to put a stop to a war that all of them are supporting. What if we turn the tables on them and turn it over to them? I don’t think it would take long to end the whole mess. We might even head into Afghanistan to finish the job of Old Ben, Bush dropped so he could play World Cop.
What if we come home and rethink this whole mess? Don’t you think it is about time to rethink after 4 years of screw ups? What if the congress decided to impeach Bush because of his refusal to end the Iraq war regardless of win or lose?
There have been too many of our friends and neighbors lost in this police action or another just like it. Now we have Mc Cain trying to get into the act, wanting more troops over there. What if we give him a rifle and turn him loose in Baghdad for a while. And he would like to be to be president? Maybe he can’t read either. What if we draft Bush’s daughters and put them in Hummer running up and down the roads over there. That would bring a swift halt to the fighting. It all depends on who knows who in this ‘war’. The U.S. went to Iraq to stop terrorist but just ended up making a lot more of them. Our reputation in the world has hit an all time low. We had the information in our hands to stop the 9-11 before it happened but we didn’t. Did you ever ask yourself why, was it just a government screw up like happens all the time or what? Our leaders think they can control the whole world. Hell we can’t even take care of ourselves.
This deal about Iran and the nuclear power, why should the big countries be the only ones that have bombs? One false move from Iran and they would be toast, Israel could probably do that, I’m sure they have the capability. If not them Russia would have to take care of it. What if after we pull out and the mid east got into a free for all, would that be all that bad? I think it would calm them down for a long time. Let them foot the bill to fix every thing back up
Now I realize this will really tick some of you Bush lovers off, If so, figure out a way out of this mess and sell it to Bush. Good luck, he hasn’t listened to any one yet. I remember a story about the guy that heard if he smiled things could be worse, Bush smiles and sure enough thing are still getting worse Today’s news is more of the same. More troops so we can WIN???, Who does he think he is kidding. The more I think of impeachment the better I like it. What if the democrats decide to do that. It would be music to my ears. I lost one son because of Vietnam. I have a grandson in law in the air force just waiting to go to Iraq. Had a grandson that was a ranger before all this stuff started, I’m glad he is out now. All we are doing over there is putting more fuel on the fire. Jody13

The fireworks story brought a chuckle, i can just picture all the excitement of rockets flying everywhere...
That is so cool you write stories for acouple local papers. What type of novels do you write?
Look forward to hearing more...

What type of story do I write, well so far it is just one and it was a past life I had. I was a confederate soldier and I rode with Quanterell. I didn't like what he was doing so several of us left and headed west before the war was over, we deserted. But ended up as U. S. marshalls way out in New Mexico and Arizonia. It is close to 300 pages and is on Amazon .com as , "My life and Times as Harve Bodine. I have since rewrote the ending and added 3 more chapters. I have the new version here at home and it sells for $15 + pos. We sold 30 copies at the conference we went to last week. I guess I should put an add in the want add area .Not sure how to do it. Jody

Jody - as always, great writing!
How was the conference? It seems you have more than one creative skill.

Susie, The conference was fun, high priced but still fun. we did ok on our stuff. Sold around 50 pendulums. , 30 books and lots of other stuff that we make. We taught two classes together, back to back. It was called "Dowsing and Common Sense " My wife and I teach together as a pair. Her birthday is tomorrow. She will be the same age as me, poor thing. We went to a dowsing meeting at the Rock Creek Pony Express Park to day. It was fun. We also did a lot of hands on healing while we were there at the conference.. Jody
