liver blood lab test results during tx???

I've attempted an 'alternative' tx [MMS} and got baseline liver blood tests before and at 2 weeks into tx and noticed elevated alt/ast and alt phos [doubled] and I choose to stop tx but alt. med. people   are suggesting that my elevated liver enzyme levels are an  indication of successful elimination and detoxification.  Could that be true??
Do you, who are going thru mainstream tx get blood liver tests and are the values elevated or stable or decrease??
Please advise asap so I can possibly continue or discontinue.....

I'm on standard treatment and enzymes usually go down while on tx.

And to add to what Missy said,

If on standard tx the enzymes do not go down to normal it is not a good sign and tends to mean tx will not be successful.

And for the record, no regime, diet, supplements, herbal, praying to ancient Aztec Gods, or whatever has ever been proven (or seriously studied) to reduce in any way the effects of treatment.  It is possible they may help, but that is the max extent as to what they do.

I'm still trying to get some of dx info during mainstream tx [interferon coctail].  At what intervals do they check liver blood?? and what is the normal course of the liver enzyme readings....all decreasing thruout tx?? and do they use any other test results or is it only liver enzymes??  alt.phos. possibly?? as well as ast/alt?? 
Need to know to compare with my alternative tx results.

The interval depends to a large extent on the doctor and on the results.  My doc, for example, wanted monthly labs if all was more or less normal, but I worked up to weekly labs due to low red counts.  Very quickly after starting treatment, ALT/AST will go to normal and tend to stay there during tx.  As I noted earlier, failure to do so is cause for concern.  And exactly what tests and what results also depends to a large extent on the doctor.  My doc always ordered CBC, LFT, VL, and for good measure couple of tests for tumor markers.  The two major ones, as to tx, are VL and LFT.  If VL does not drop, it flat isn't working.  Major test periods, 4 weeks, 12 weeks.  From those two you can determine whether to quit tx or continue.

It's early, but I think that's it.

When i first started treatment my dr wanted me to taken a blood test evey week for the first month and then every month.  Then it ended up when i could get there.

If you were tested in the first week and or second week did your liver enzyne levels go down, up or stay the same.
