Keep HCV Anonymous Going
«
on:
September 14, 2008, 08:02:26 AM »
Dear Members of HCV Anonymous,
Due to ongoing expenses of keeping some of the "Bells and Whistles" of our board going and the need to upgrade the board it is time time for HCV Anonymous to "pass the hat".
The renewal for our chat room is coming due on October 14, 2008. Last year when we upgraded the chat room the moderators took funds from their own pockets to get this done. Since upgrading the chat room it has really taken off and continues to provide a wonderful place for our members to interact in real time. In addition to the chat room, it is our desire to upgrade the board and there are expenses that have been incurred with the Positive Attitude meetings.
Please remember that none of the moderators or administrators receive any kind of compensation for keeping hcvanonymous.com the wonderful place that it is. We are all volunteers and give generously of our time and on occasion our wallets. We are average people just like ya'll. Some of us don't work, some of us are on treatment, and all of us have been affected financially as you have.
Therefore, we are kindly asking that our members considering kicking in a few bucks to help out the moderators and administrators with these expenses. The cost to renew the chat room in it's current format is $125.00 per year and can go as high as $250.00 depending on how far we upgrade. Anyone wishing to donate please contact MissyMouse (Missy Flynn) by way of PM (personal message) and I will forward my mailing address to you. Since guests are able to read the posts here it's really not wise for me to post all my personal information in this thread.
The expense of the chat room is charged to my personal credit card. The amount of the upgrade that we do to the chat room will depend on how much we have in funds on October 14, 2008. Any excess funds will be forwarded to cover the expenses of the Positive Attitude 12 Step Meetings and the future upgrade of the board itself. I will also keep a running tab of the funds collected here on the board. To keep in tradation of remaining annonymous, each person that donates will be assigned a receipt number and the receipt number with the corresponding amount donated will be listed right here in this thread so that all members can see the progress being made on keeping their "on line home" going.
Thank you all in advance for you generosity and contributions.
Sincerely,
Missy Flynn

Mousey, times are as tough as they can get for me, but my truck might be sold soon, so if it is I'll be happy to help, but after I get caught up on some past due bills. Please note the the words "might be sold" mean just that, and I can't force anyone to buy it. But if it is I'll be emailing you for your address as soon as I know it is. But, if it
doesn't
sell, I'm stuck, as I already rely on a church mission for food, and am living on faith and a tiny pension that is never quite enough to get by on. But if there is some other way I can sell something or find a small job I will and I'll be more than happy to help.
Thanks to Glen and to every moderator for all you do for us, and it is good to note that even after so many years of helping others, this is the very first time I've ever seen anyone ask for help for the site that has unselfishly been here for us all through all out long suffering, supporting us all in our time of greatest need.
God bless.

Missy, is there a way we can do a credit card or paypal payment? It would make things a lot easier. We all do appreciate all the moderators because if time was indeed money, none of us could afford any of you. Keep your spirits high...robin

Pssst, hey Robin, shhhhh, let me let you in on a little tidbit of info. But don't tell.
We may not get paid much, well okay, at all, but you ought to see the lounge we have (do sauna, hot tub, olympic pool, pool bar, and umbrellas sound good?) PLUS Glen pays for an incredible Sunday Brunch.....................

Thanks Miss Mouse. Kerry, you could offer up a horse but if you include grain, hay and boarding...I'll make a sizable donation. LOL. I miss having horses but have no place to store one or finances to support one. Having is horse is more expensive that child support. LOL Keep your spirits high...robin

Missy...could you give us an idea of what HCVA needs on a monthly basis to remain in the white? I think that's what it is. I do know red is not where we want to bank account to be. That way we could keep that in mind and maybe just have a monthy reminder so people would keep it fresh in their minds that this service does cost someone. I'm sure with Christmas coming up, there will be a dry spell for a lot of people, but I honestly just take it for granted that funding is there. Keep your spirits high...robin
