Hi All!  Just wanted to update--things are a little better at the moment.  Ricky went for labs and met with his doctor Thursday.  His doctor said they believe it is rejection and not Hep C that is elevating his enzymes and they've scheduled him for another biopsy next week.  They said if it is rejection, they have discovered a radiation procedure that does a good job of stopping the rejection.  (Maybe the radiation reduces the immune system further?)

Later that day, his lab work came back and his enzymes had gone down some, which was good news, plus his platelets had stayed up--indicating that the ITP virus might be under control finally, and his white cells were ok.  So that was all good!  He seems to have stabilized some on the Prednisone and says he can tell his emotions are "right there" if he gets to talking about something that upsets him, but otherwise he's doing pretty well on the higher levels of Prograf plus the Celcept he's now on.  I had read terrible things about the side effects of Celcept but he seems ok on it.

I'll post again when we know the results of his biopsy.

Hope you all have a great week!

How great that Ricky is responding well to the treatment, JulieAnn. For sure, when I read your posts, it makes me feel so greateful that I've had absolutely no problems related to my transplant. Keep us informed as to how things go and keep your spirits high...robin
