Hi Everybody!

I apologize for not being as frequent a participant in this wonderful forum for quite some time other than occasionally replying to a post or two if I had the free time to do so... It's just that my work load has been ever increasing as my class get's closer to the end of my first teaching semester at the college I've recently began to work at. I wanted to post this link here because this article is the future of transplantation as we know it today!!!! I'm not talking about how we're going to do things in a few centuries - oh NOOOO!!!!! I'm talking about a significant discovery which holds soooo much promise as being the most profound change in the way we will be procuring organs for transplantation in a FEW YEARS!!!!! Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool

Here's the link, so please do read this article because it really threw me off my chair after I read about the discovery!!!!

http://www.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/10/13/eod.ghost.heart/index.html

I hope everyone appreciate the potential regarding this discovery, and it's validation as a working technique that will revolutionize the way organs will be procured, manufactured, harvested or whatever else one wants to label it.

Enjoy, and I almost forgot....

Even though it's early, I thought I'd take this opportunity to wish everyone in here a wonderful, safe, and happy THANKSGIVING!!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
Respectfully,
Hank

Research is always interesting...though I don't see this in my lifetime. A rat's heart is a different ballgame than human. Keep your spirits high...robin

I agree but, when they start using this same technique on a pig's heart they'll get to a higher level of sophistication which btw, has the "swine's" heart physiologically very close to the complex architectural & structural composition of the human heart! So if they can do this with "swine" hearts which they've already started to work on, then humans might be closer to becoming a reality much closer than one might think especially at first glance. Besides, my grandmother always used to say to me: "Henry! Remember this young man... It doesn't cost you anything to dream!!! It will only cost you if you follow an unrealistic path in attempting to achieve an unrealistic goal!" Words of wisdom I wish I listened to when I was younger instead of being headstrong, and arrogant with a rather "obtuse" sense of invincibility. Btw, I'm not married yet only because I haven't been with the woman meant for me, or me for her yet... Then again, that may not be the real reason as I have been known to be just a tad biased when talking about myself to other folks Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Huh Huh Huh Shocked Shocked Shocked Wink Wink Wink Undecided Roll Eyes Undecided Huh Undecided Shocked Grin Grin Grin Cool Cool Cool
