Just got the news. The virus is UNDIE to <5 iu/ml.  I guess I don't know what to feel, yet. Brother Pete, if you're reading this. . . you'll be here in God's time.  Smiley Lee, Missy and everyone else still on the battlefield. . . you can make it. I figure it's in the bag for you three.

Just about everyone here is stronger, tougher than I am. . . and I made it. Never give up. . . never, never give up.

PS I hadn't had a pcr since wk 12 of tx. It just seemed like the thing to do.

blessings to everyone. . . .

That's awesome.

For whatever the heck it may be worth, both times I treated I had high levels of virus at 3 months post so for you to have already gone 4 that's pretty good.

Congrats.

Somehow I didn't expect anything less.  Wink.

Fred,

I truly am thrilled for you ... there is no doubt in my mind that you will be SVR.  Odds are certainly your favor now!

At 4 months you are virtually assurred of attaining SVR.

I don't have the study at my fingertips but it is generally acknowleged that after 3 months only a small percent relapse.  One study went so far as to suggest that 100% retain that status UNLESS they are stage 4.  I believe that the reason for that is that due to cirrhosis or fibrosis there is a greater chance that a few straggler virons may "hide" in areas like scar tissue and that these areas may not be as easy to clean out by TX.

I think that you are likely looking very good for an "official" SVR. and what a great Christmas gift it is indeed....

I'm so happy for you! Great news. There's always a little nervousness around the PCR's, and it's a wonderful relief to have one come out undetectable! And this is an important one, too.
