When you say not eaten anything what you been taking the pills with.?.....You should take them with food never just with water, or this can make you very nauseous.if nothing else try eat some yogurt with the pills...

Do you know your last blood results..?....The Hb.?..If this is low it can make you feel week as your body has less oxygen to pass around your body..Its all about pacing yourself and resting, I know you have children so its not so easy...

Also try some ginger to help with the Nausea just like you might have done while pregnant....Ginger Tea, Ginger Gummi bears to chew.....Px

I know those drinks we have them here very high calorie......

Has your appetite gone is there nothing you fancy to eat..?...

I know jb struggles some days but has to force something in as he knows it will make him worse if he dont...

Your fairly early in on Tx ain`t you.?...just had a good response to Tx.?....

I don`t want to nag you but its important to keep the tempo up...You have a long haul to go you can`t fall this early on.....

Could you eat perhaps Porridge for breakfast and a actimol (do you get then there) probiotic drink to replace some of the good bacteria you have lost..and your pills..

Plenty of water during the day to keep hydrated and stop any headaches...

Lunch perhaps the ensures drinks..

Tea something like soup with some buttered toast....and your pills..

Your doing so well and I do hate nagging.....................PXXX

As much as I dislike the taste of anything with ginger in it ... I actually will drink gingerale for my nausea and it does help.  My GI also prescribed me Phenegran for my nausea (by the 100's LOL).    I tend to do much better with cold food and bready food (yes, even cake LOL) when my nausea is acting up.

Hope this helps a little.

"Now bring me some figgy pudding..."

Sorry, wrong thread.

But since I'm here:    Grin

Let's be honest here; treatment can be tough...

ya gotta eat, kiddo.  The Riba-Snacks DO NOT constitute a meal, even though i myself swore by cheddar and riba-omelets with interferon sauce.

A muffin, or a little veggie juice and a simple flat bread...an egg here or there...yogurt is always a winner, and with all the flavors that are available, ya` might find one you like.

I seem to remember people talking about the value of a series of small snacks throughout the day as opposed to big meals...

Missy has a great idea regarding the ginger ale (Ginger ale, not bar room ale)

Pixie is "spot-on" with the porridge suggestion.  I eat a little oatmeal with raw sunflower seeds 5-6 mornings a week.  Nuts & grains are good for your gut, too.  If you need to sweeten your food a little, treat yourself to a high-quality honey instead of crappy old table sugar.  Honey is a good (or at least fair) source of B6, thiamine, niacin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid and certain amino acids.

Are you able to walk or exercise at all?  I ask because Fredmax Leftypancho was able to stay fairly active during his battle, and if I remember right, it was helpful to him; search his posts, because I think he talked about the role fitness played in his treatment.

So there it is, my two cents worth, inflated to about a buck & a half...

I hope this helps; whatever I can do, I wil, or at least I'll try...

See ya`

Judy.
I would nevr feel like eating at all. I would get a 6: subway sanwich and eat
on it for 2 days!

Nicole would make me a salad. she would put all kinda of thingswith it, but around the edges so I could pick what I wanted of it. she wouldl also put a couple pieces of chicken..maybe soem tri tip. That was a great wat to get soem protien and veggies. It was light so it went sown easy too.

Good luck there, Judy.

Frozen fruit worked for me. It was cold and felt good and seemed to help settle my stomach and didn't take a lot of effort to digest. Grapes and pineapple were my favorites. Gotta eat to stay healthy. Keep your spirits high...robin

hi Judy,

I hope you're feeling better today. Food made a lot of difference on how I felt during tx.

I ate 'soft' foods everyday. . . oatmeal with raisins, sun seeds, flax seeds and milk. The taste for sugar would come and go. I ate beans and rice. . . very simply prepared. I ate a lot of wholewheat bread. . . love my bread machine. There's nothing like fresh hot bread and butter. I'd have p-nut paste (love that word) and yogurt on bread. I went through a lot of cheddar cheese also. Melted on bread was a frequent snack.

I quit coffee during tx. . . the acid upset my stomach. I did enjoy a pot of tea most days.

Nausea: oatmeal/porridge is great. I make mine (NOT instant) in the microwave
constipation: allbran cereals topped with raisins, seeds and maybe a banana. . . a few times the tramadol caused me to use a laxative
diarreah:  cheddar cheese can bind me up tight as a drum

Mongo is right about exercise. Any walking or just sitting range of motion exercises help.

I wonder if eating good food is a big part of geting thru tx??? Do you have someone to come in and help with meals?

sincere best wishes,

Fredmax/Pancholefty    (due to severe identity confusion duing tx)  Wink

Cold stuff and liquid stuff. Most of my time on tx involved no nausea, but also no hunger.
I had to eat  everything cold because hot food just did not sit well with me.

It's true, but you likely already know that. You need to eat stuff or you are not going to do well. Even when not on tx, if you don't eat, you get weak and ill feeling, so adding tx to that mix, and I can only imagine how you feel.

I liked gingerale too; the bubbles helped whenever I had an upset stomach.

I hope you are feeling a bit better now.

(((Hi Judy)))

Did you get any tips that helped you with your nausea?  I hope you found some relief so that you were able to enjoy some holiday foods.  Tomorrow my husband will be starting his 7th week of TX and nausea has been his only major complaint.  I am making sure that he eats a little something when he takes the Ribavirin which can stretch from saltine crackers to a snack size portion of whatever we happen to have left over from the previous meal...along with a can of organic ginger ale.  Once in awhile I give him a Compazine if nothing else is working.  I got the Compazine from my Gastro doctor when I was on TX; You might want to ask your doctor about that or phenegren like Mousie is taking if it becomes a constant problem for you.

Let us know how you're doing, okay?

Love..... Cool
