Talked to our little Kat today and she sounds HORRIBLE.  Cry The sides were unbearable, she could not get any rest or even comfortable to try to rest and had a generally miserable night. She said this time was much harder than when she initially attempted treatment a few years back so let's all keep her in our thoughts for a more peaceful rest tonight. Keep your spirits high...robin

I also talked to our KatNyerHat today.  She really did have a rough time and is being very hard on herself.   Our conversation got cut a little short as her doc was calling her on the other line.   Hopefully Kat will check in with us soon.  In the  mean time, I know she's got lots of positive thoughts being sent her way.

{{{Hey Kat!}}}

I'm hoping tonight will be a better time for you than last night so that you will be able to get some much needed rest.  Of course you are in all of our thoughts and I will be including you in my Prayers this evening.  Be Well. Kiss

Dear Kat,

So sorry to hear that you are having a rough time.  I wish there was something we could do to ease it for you, but know that you have lots of us thinking of you and sending good thoughts your way.

Take it as easy as you can,
Lots of hugs,

Cris

Oh, dear... it's already March and I just read this....
Just want to thank each and every one of you for your support.  It truly means the most to me.  To be frank, I was on the verge of a breakdown.  The transition with my work, migrating to another platform and maintaining the old one until everyone converted over to the new.  The training alone (to our clients) took up 6 hours of my work day, with 5 more hours of playing catch-up.  This on top of feeling really "shi#@y" to say the least didn't help.  My lifelong friend's mother found out she had pancreatic cancer during Christmas and passed away in Feb, so the opportunity arose for me to accompany her back again to O'ahu, Hawaii.  Even though I was there to help her, she played a huge part in helping me heal.  Between the work involved to clean up her mom's house (she was quite a pack-rat to say the least), we spent one day snorkeling and being in another world under the sea was just what the doctor ordered.  The coral, fish and honu's (turtles) were incredible.  I was so tempted to bring back one of her mother's cats, as there is no one to take them in.  The other had to be put down due to a cut that wouldn't respond to tx (sorta like me)...  So between the tears and the smiles, I feel like a brand new person.  Normally, I wouldn't have been able to go but without asking for the time off, I just told my boss that I was 100% burnt out.

Now, it's back to the grind yet I feel like there will be plenty of Kat time to rest and rejuvanate.

Blessings to all of you who are so selfless and giving of yourselves.  Just when you think your words fall on deaf ears, just know that they help those of us who do not show or wear their depression well.

Good to hear from you Kat.  Stay well, that's all that you can do and take it one day at a time.

I'm sorry that the trial didn't work out for you.  There is one trial this year that will be without IFN and RBV.  I think that Vertex will have one by year end as well.  If an effective TX comes up without the IFN I think you'll be in.  Josh Boger from Vertex felt that theirs could be approved by the middle of the next decade, possibly by 2014.  There will be trials until then.

Take care and thanks for writing.

best,
