How are you? ...Well there's a loaded question

Missy...thanks for asking...are you sure you want the answer. I am on my pitty-pot today, but I will try to be really short and to the point about complaints and elequent about my life in general-since I have not really checked in for a while...so hear goes..
I hurt like hell...how's that?
Otherwise doing just fine.
just kidding...I wouldn't keep you in suspense..hears a short synopsis.
Health: poor to more poor. I really do hurt all over. My liver hurts, my spleen I think hurts and my bones and joints hurt. When I was on treatment it damaged my thyroid so I see a guy for that...during my routine checkup a year ago he discovered I had a parathyroid adenoma and I had it removed...when it is discovered it is because the labs show a high or low calcium level and a high parathyroid stimulating hormone...anyhoo that happened again 1 1/2 months ago and in addition discovered I had a vitamin D deficency...normal/good level is 40ish and mine was 9. So I am on vit D and hoping it will help with the bone aches.
I guess what is hard is the pain. It really is all over ...my back and neck are in spasm at ALL times. My bones pop all the time when I move and the lower back ache is rediculous. They say I have secondary hyperparathyroidism now and that there are two causes. 1-malabsorption of vit D in the small intestine and 2-the main and most common reason is chronic kidney failure. So I am a little freaked. I have so much back pain that I do wonder if my kidneys are involved..I have testing coming up so I guess I will find out.
The Good Stuff: I am now in addition to my regular job, and my photography; I am creating absolutely gorgeous coffee table books of peoples lives. I will have a website soon...just starting that. So I keep busy. I guess I think if I stop...then I will just stop period.

Oh Diana,
I'm so sorry. I know how bad that low back pain can be. I have a tremendous amount of it when I'm tx. I really do wish I could take all the hep crap away for you. You truely are a neat lady and deserve better.
Hugs,
Missy

Heh Missy, thanks for your kind words. I don't know what all the pain is about..I haven't been on treatment for two years. I think that the disease is just plain nasty and it hurts. It is truly amazing how much our bodies and minds can take and still keep on plugging away at our daily lives.
Remember the guy that wrote the letter to people who "don't" have hep c...it was like a plea for people to be compassionate and to understand that one minute you might feel ok and the next you just have to lay down and bow out of the whole thing for a while. I think about that letter every time someone says...." Well you look good-you don't look sick" clearly these individuals have no clue what-so-ever when it comes to having a disease. I sometimes think it would be easier if we'd all just turn a bright purple! At least someone might then say "oh ya your color looks a little off...gee maybe there is something going on with you"....ok ok enough.
Love D
