Get Involved--Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to do something about HCV--and for those affected by HCV.

HCV Anonymous is extending a special invitation to you to join us in the fight against hepatitis C.

To volunteer and become a part of our team or to learn more about starting meetings and events in your area, please send us an e-mail.

The volunteer chapters of the HCV Anonymous will coordinate many events and programs in which you can participate, have fun, make new friends, enhance your resume skills, gain valuable work experience, develop networking opportunities all while contributing to an important cause.

There are a variety of volunteer jobs available and we will attempt to match you with a position that will meet your needs and optimize your talents.  Please send an e-mail to us for more information.  Here is a brief description of current opportunities:

Volunteer Coordinator: Recruits and helps to train and monitor volunteers.

Online Discussion Group Leaders: We are looking for commitments for all time slots for online meetings.  We need people to lead and host our online meetings at scheduled times.  Volunteers are responsible for hosting online meetings at appointed times.  As a commitment person you can sign on for one or more time schedules.  Your responsibilities are to suit up and show up, be online at the set time, mediate, keep the meeting flowing and on target.  If you think this is something that you might be interested in, please let us know.

Discussion Group Leaders and Coordinators: Introduce the HCV Anonymous big book to your current meeting.

Sponsors: Provides support to a newly diagnosed member online, over the phone and in person (when possible) for a time-limited period.  Must be HCV challenged individual who will be a good example and provide helpful information and encouragement.  (This is not a counseling program.)

Translators: Reviews translations of web site and book for accuracy.

Communications/Public Relations: Helps with press releases and public awareness ideas and activities.  Requires experience and/or strong interest in public relations and computer skills. 

Fundraising Committee: Assists with fundraising ideas and activities  A background in finance, fundraising, or business as well as creative thinking would be helpful.  Time obligation is negotiable but a 6-month commitment is needed.

We are in the process of getting our 501 C3 non-profit status.
